If someone is in cardiac arrest, every minute counts.

Did you know that EMS often arrives in 8–12 minutes which is significant since survival drops each minute without defibrillation.

Reliance Fire Protection's AED monitoring program ensures your unit is always ready — using the Stryker LIFEPAK CR2, which provides clear voice and visual prompts to guide anyone in lifesaving steps.

Paired with CPR, survival odds can TRIPLE.

How many of these parts can you identify without the guide? (Not sure? Totally fine — our field leaders have you covered.)

What building owners should know is how often an electric fire pump needs to be inspected. Per NFPA 25, that’s a weekly churn test, monthly visual checks, and a full annual flow test to make sure your system has the pressure it needs.

A fire pump is the heart of your fire protection system — regular inspections keep you compliant, prevent costly breakdowns, and ensure the pump performs when it counts. Skipping inspections leads to failures, fines, and bigger bills later.

Preventative, compliant, safer. Inspections are a no-brainer.

What are your thoughts on paper trails?

At our work at Reliance Fire Protection, a member of the DU Family of Companies, documentation is just as critical as the pipe, fittings, and equipment we install.

Whether you're designing, installing, inspecting, or maintaining systems, staying aligned with IBC/IFC requirements and NFPA 13/25 is essential—not just for compliance, but for protecting owners and the integrity of the system.

This article from AFSA breaks down the “paper trail” we all navigate and is a solid resource for anyone looking to tighten up their documentation process.

Let's say there's a fire in a building, and only the fire sprinkler near the fire goes off. Have you ever wondered how that sprinkler knows to turn on?

It all comes down to a small glass bulb that does a big job.

Inside that bulb is a special liquid with a tiny air bubble. When a fire heats the area:
1. The liquid expands, causing the air bubble to grow.
2. The pressure breaks the glass bulb, which had been holding a metal “seat” in place.
3. The seat releases, and water instantly flows from the sprinkler head to control the fire.

Only the sprinkler heads exposed to enough heat activate — not the whole system.
Simple design. Smart engineering. Reliable protection.
