Digging out our carbonic coferment of Barbera & Dolcetto, with clusters from foxhillvineyard. Joe, Emmanuel, Jordan and Tommy show us the process in the cellar, from digging out the tank to a gentle press before it goes back into concrete to age.

This is the new backbone of Love Red for us. It smells good, tastes incredible, and we can’t wait to share it for the upcoming 2026 release 🍇

Fun fact: our label designer Marta Elise Johansen hand drew directly onto our concrete tanks, adding a little calm to the cellar.

Yesterday at foxhillvineyard we picked Sangiovese Grosso and Nero d’Avola. Look who joined us! Evan Ruth Lewandowski W**es and Wolfgang En Cavale W**e make such delicious w**es from this vineyard, and we all share a deep love for the magic of the Sangiovese.

We picked the Nero as well, and this year it’s looking much lighter than in years past. It’ll be a smaller vintage, pretty much a club-only w**e for the 2026 release. But the quality is incredible, as always.

Thank you to everyone in the vineyard and back in Berkeley making the w**es, and all the w**emakers who support foxhillvineyard. 🤍🤍

Destemming Grignolino from foxhillvineyard 🍇 looks like fruity pebbles. Fun fact, the word Grignolino comes from the local word grignole, meaning “many pips” or seeds. Each small berry has three to four times more seeds than normal grapes.

Other happenings in the cellar, we dig out a concrete tank, then pressed off carbonic Sangiovese (that’s Emmanuel cleaning the press), and Souzao and Touriga came in as well from foxhillvineyard.

More soon!🤍

An early morning / very late night pick at foxhillvineyard, finishing just as the sun came up 🌿

We’re lucky to work with an incredible team in Mendocino County, led by Peter and his right hand man, Chato. The fruit is looking beautiful this year. Light, but beautiful.

More soon. It’s all coming in this week 🫠

Thank you all for coming out yesterday for our Nayelí & Claudia! It was a busy one w/ grape stomping for our Love Rosé, tacos, ceviche, sunny weather, and lots of familiar faces and new ones.

This upcoming week will be a busy one for us in the cellar, even with this cooler weather we’re seeing that the grapes are ready to all come in. 🍇

Stay tuned for more and the next pop-up party! And don’t forget to swing by this week/weekend to stock up on w**e for the holiday weekend ahead. We’re open Thurs–Sun ☀️

Vermentino coming in from Junius Vineyard yesterday.

This harvest has been lighter than years prior, especially when it comes to the white grapes. We’re grateful for wonderful neighbors and friends growing beautiful grapes nearby on the Talmage Bench, just a couple minutes from foxhillvineyard.

Sound up to hear Diana foot-treading the grapes. We foot-stomp all of our white grapes for two reasons:

To make a w**e with more character, texture, and depth of flavor (and a little more color).

To help the grapes release their juice and flavor more easily in the press, while keeping the extraction slow and very gentle.

Diana also shows us how to use your arms when digging out a carbonic whole-cluster tank that went into the press the other day. The grapes were a co-ferment of Barbera and Dolcetto from foxhillvineyard. Wish you could smell how good it was.

More grapes are coming in every day through the weekend and into next week… it’s all happening. Stay tuned.

SPARKLING ERBALUCE is HERE! 🍾

A look behind the scenes at disgorging day for our Erbaluce.

We make three different sparkling cuvées, and like everything we make at Broc, they’re made here by our team in our Berkeley w**ery. Disgorging is a hands-on day that involves our entire team.

Big shout out to this year’s disgorging crew: Tommy, Diana, Jordan, Ken, Lacey, Lia, Becca and Justin.

And thanks to Luke Luke Farnam West Creative for coming out to capture the action.

Erbaluce is now available on our site, in the tasting room AND limited availability to all markets! Ask your reps to get some. Enjoy 🍾
