🇺🇸 We had meetings Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak, Senator Kevin Cramer staff and Senator John Hoeven.

🇺🇸 Pro-housing policies are discussed with members of Congress each year at the NAHB Spring Leadership Meetings and Legislative Conference.

◾️ Homeownership is the foundation of the American Dream! The North Dakota Association of Builders and the home building industry celebrate this by recognizing June as National Homeownership Month! The U.S. homeownership rate was 65.7% in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to the Census Bureau's Housing Vacancy Survey (HVS). Headlines across the country are highlighting the challenge of housing affordability. In 2026, 65% of U.S. households cannot afford a median-priced new home. At a median price of $413,595 and a 30-year mortgage rate of 6%, approximately 88.2 million households are priced out of the market.

◾️ Homeownership offers households one of the most reliable paths to accumulate assets and build wealth over time. Owning a home often builds equity that individuals and families can tap into for retirement, healthcare needs or unexpected hardships. Alleviating regulatory burdens and making sustained investments in workforce development are a snapshot of several issues our association and NAHB are advocating to make the dream of homeownership a reality!

National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Chairman of the Board Bill Owens will be our special guest. Meetings and the Social will take place on Tuesday, August 4th at the Rough Riders Hotel with a golf event on Wednesday, August 5th at the Bully Pulpit Golf Course. To celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, we will be taking a tour of the new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library while we are in town.

◾️ With the summer season upon us, golf tournaments are about to be in full swing! Don’t forget to register for your local golf event. First up is the Building Industry Association of the RRV first golf tournament of the summer on June 26th at the Hawley Golf Club, followed by Minot Association of Builders Hammers & Keys Classic at the Beowulf Golf Club on July 13th. The Bismarck-Mandan Home Builders Association will host their annual Golf Tournament on July 14th at Hawktree Golf Club and on July 16th and August 13th the BIA-RRV will hold their second and third golf outings in Hawley. The summer concludes with the DABA-Dickinson Builders Association ND Golf Scramble on September 10th at the at the Heart River Golf Course and the Forx Builders Association Golf Outing on September 24th at the Valley Golf Course in East Grand Forks.

👷‍♀️ The Bismarck Mandan Professional Women in Building (BMPWB) will be continuing their Room Refresh Project this year that will benefit the Bismarck Cancer Center. They were recently on Studio 701 to spread awareness about this important project.

👷‍♀️ In 2025 the BMPWB completed two apartment remodels and their 2026 goal is to raise $50,000 to finish the remaining two lower-level apartments and complete the entire apartment building for patients and families staying at the Bismarck Cancer Center Apartments.
