This Memorial Day weekend in Western PA was cold, rainy, gloomy, and honestly… You could feel the emotional weight of it in our house.

My daughter had been lethargic all weekend.
My husband, who struggles with seasonal depression, seemed withdrawn and low-energy.

Then the sun came out.

Within minutes, my daughter was outside running through sprinklers, and my husband was pulling out patio furniture and speakers. The entire mood of our home shifted.

It was such a powerful reminder of something I talk about in my book:
Our environment deeply impacts our mental health.

Fresh air helps.
Sunlight helps.
Nature helps.
Quiet helps.

No, it won’t magically erase anxiety or depression overnight but sometimes healing starts with stepping away from the noise and reconnecting with the world around us.
