People say security only ‘observes and reports,’ but the reason officers observe is to identify threats before innocent people get hurt, and the reason they report is to get people help and respond when seconds matter.

And when it truly comes down to it, many armed security officers are willing to stand between danger and complete strangers. This officer proved that with his life.

Rest in peace to a brave man who died protecting others.

The security guard was shot and killed during an attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego, but not before saving the lives of 140 children attending the school inside the center.

Police Chief Scott Wahl called his response heroic and said it undoubtedly pushed the suspects to flee. Two other worshippers were also killed after drawing the suspects' attention in the parking lot. The two teenage attackers were later found dead of self-inflicted wounds nearby.

Investigators seized more than 30 fi****ms from residences connected to the suspects along with a manifesto. The shooting is being investigated as a hate crime. FBI agents said writings found at the scene outlined racial and religious beliefs and the suspects "did not discriminate on who they hated."

Abdullah was a father of eight who worked at the mosque for more than a decade. A fundraiser for the three victims has raised more than $2.9 million. San Diego's mayor said these three Muslim men represent the city far more than the suspects ever could.

SOCO was proud to provide overnight security services to Junktique for the The Florence Chamber of Commerce for the second year in a row.

Despite the windy night, everything went smoothly and the event was a success. We appreciate the opportunity to help keep the event safe and secure for vendors, staff, and guests.
