Some of my favorite childhood memories included Alaska. Not because I literally spent time there. But because my sister and I spent so much of our childhood building Alaska.

In our imaginations. And on an empty lot. In our neighborhood full of newly built homes. I don’t know how we got introduced to the “last frontier” but we quickly became obsessed. We built forts, created meals, and imagined the stories the totem poles could tell.

We spent hours there. Days. Entire summers (or at least it felt like that in my childhood mind).

I was an observant kid. Always taking in my surroundings. Building things. Even if they were mostly in my mind.

So, it’s no surprise I chose a career that asks me to observe. To build. To imagine. And, to tell stories.

This summer, my sister and I finally went to Alaska. A full circle moment. And I sat back to fully absorb the place I had long imagined.

Enjoy the color palettes and inspiration I found throughout our 10 day adventure.

And, cheers to the things we imagine then bring to life for ourselves. 🤍 Amanda
