Vertical Decorative Concrete

CRAFTED BY HAND. BUILT TO STAND OUT.

There’s a big difference between something that’s installed and something that’s created.

At Chicago Functional Hardscapes, we specialize in transforming concrete into one-of-a-kind environments through hand-carved artificial rock and Vertical Decorative Concrete.

Stone textures. Rock formations. Custom fireplaces. Water features. Outdoor living spaces. Every detail can be shaped, carved, colored, and finished by hand to give the project its own character.

That means your backyard doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s.

With nearly two decades of experience behind the craft, Nathan Giffin brings an artist’s approach to functional hardscape design, creating spaces that look natural, feel established, and are built to be enjoyed.

Your property. Your vision. One-of-a-kind craftsmanship.

The best evenings don’t need much planning. A fire, a few friends, and somewhere comfortable to gather.

This custom fire pit pairs a rugged, hand-carved rock finish with a nearby seating wall, giving the backyard a natural gathering place.

At Chicago Functional Hardscapes, we design fire features that bring character to your property and purpose to the space around them.
