One of the most rewarding parts of our work at LMK Advocacy is helping clients elevate their voices at the Ohio Statehouse and share the real-world expertise that shapes good public policy.

Last week, our client Cindy Garner with Clothes That Work, testified in support of Senate Bill 328 before the Ohio House Education Committee. Her testimony highlighted something employers across Ohio consistently tell us: workforce success requires more than technical knowledge. Communication, professionalism, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability are essential skills that help individuals not only get a job but build a career.

For nearly three decades, Clothes That Work has helped more than 45,000 Ohioans gain the confidence, skills, and resources needed to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Through more than 420 workforce readiness workshops serving over 7,000 individuals, they have seen firsthand that professional skills can be taught—and that introducing students to career exploration and workforce readiness earlier can have a lasting impact.

Senate Bill 328 takes important steps toward strengthening Ohio's talent pipeline by connecting education, career exploration, and workforce development. We were proud to support Clothes That Work as they shared their expertise and advocated for policies that help prepare Ohio's future workforce for success.

Celebrating an incredible milestone for our region! 🎉

LMK Advocacy was proud to join the grand opening of WYSO Public Radio’s new headquarters at the historic Union Schoolhouse—now beautifully transformed into a modern, state-of-the-art creative studio.

This project is a powerful example of what can happen when community vision, public support, and private investment come together. With the remarkable generosity of Dave Chappelle and strong support from state leaders who helped secure funding for critical broadcast equipment, this space will serve as a lasting community asset for years to come.

We are especially grateful to the elected officials who took time to celebrate this moment: Senator Willis Blackshear, Representative Brian Lampton, Representative Andrea White, Representative Tom Young, and Sean Rhodes from Senator Koehler’s office. Thank you as well to Mayor Shanise Turner-Sloss and Mayor Steve McQueen for your continued leadership and support.

🇺🇸 Back from a productive few days in Washington, DC advocating on behalf of our incredible clients. It’s always an honor to share their stories, priorities, and impact with leaders on Capitol Hill.

And while the schedule was full, it’s hard not to appreciate just how beautiful DC is in the spring—the perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations and progress.
