LMK Advocacy LMK Advocacy is a full service state and federal government affairs firm. Understanding and navigating government policy can be tedious and time-consuming.

🌳🚴‍♀️ Policy in the Parks: Connecting Community, Conservation & Quality of Life!

Last week, LMK Advocacy was proud to partner with Five Rivers MetroParks to host “Policy in the Parks” at Eastwood MetroPark, bringing together elected officials and legislative staff for a firsthand look at the incredible impact our MetroParks have on the Dayton region.

From outdoor recreation and conservation to education and community wellness, we learned more about the important role Five Rivers MetroParks plays in making our region a great place to live, work and play!

Attendees had the opportunity to explore the exciting new Nature Play Area, and some even hopped on bikes for a ride to the lake, where we learned more about the park’s water recreation opportunities, including kayaking and fishing. 🚴‍♂️🛶🎣

As part of our work supporting the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council, LMK Advocacy was proud to host legislative staff at the Ohio Statehouse for our latest General Assembly Briefing, focused on the important role County Boards of Developmental Disabilities play in the lives of Ohioans with developmental disabilities and their families.

Through our work with the Ohio DD Council, LMK Advocacy helps create opportunities to connect policymakers with self-advocates, families and experts, giving legislative staff a better understanding of Ohio’s DD system and the real-world impact of the policy decisions made at the Statehouse.

This conversation explored how County Boards of DD connect individuals and families with services and supports, help them navigate a complex system, and serve as an important part of Ohio’s network of community-based support.

Thank you to our panelists for sharing their expertise and lived experience—and to the legislative staff who joined us, asked thoughtful questions, and spent their lunch hour learning more about the Ohioans this system serves.

Good public policy starts with understanding—and we’re proud to help bring the right people into the room to make those conversations happen.

What a great day at Huffman Dam!

LMK Advocacy was proud to support the Miami Conservancy District as hundreds of community members came out to learn more about the incredible flood protection system that has protected the Miami Valley for generations.

Events like this are such an important way to connect our communities with the infrastructure and organizations working behind the scenes every day to keep our region safe. Seeing the dam up close and learning more about the system firsthand was a great reminder of the importance of continued investment in this critical regional asset.

And, in true Dayton fashion, we even had a special flyover by the Wright Flyer replica! ✈️ A pretty incredible moment that brought together our region’s history, innovation and commitment to protecting its future.

We’re proud to support partnerships that bring people together, build awareness and showcase the important work happening throughout our region.

Thank you to the Miami Conservancy District and to the hundreds who came out to experience it!

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of the first responders, service members and everyday Americans who stepped forward in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we remember not only the heartbreak of that day, but also the extraordinary strength, unity and compassion that followed.

May we never forget those we lost, those who ran toward danger to help others, and the families who carry their memories forward.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸
