Turns out Christopher Robin knew a thing or two about leadership.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for someone on your team is remind them that they’re more capable than they think.

In improv, we call that having each other’s backs.

You step into the unknown knowing someone is there to support your idea, build with you, and help when things get weird.

Because sometimes we all need a Christopher Robin in our corner.

Uber was my dream job.

Until it wasn’t.

I’ve thought a lot about what happened there, and whether 10 years and a lot more leadership experience would make me see it differently.

It hasn’t.

If anything, it helped plant the seeds for why WitWorks exists today.

So I finally wrote about it.

About bad leadership. About trust. About making people feel small. And about why I think it’s time we stop calling these things “soft skills.”

Because there’s nothing soft about their impact.

Great improvisers know their job isn’t to have all the answers. It’s to make their scene partner look good.

Give them space. Support their choices. Trust them to take the scene somewhere you wouldn’t have taken it yourself.

Turns out, that’s pretty good leadership advice too.
