Interested in serving your community and making a difference during emergencies and disasters? Come learn more about the Louisiana State Guard’s 1st Area Command Open House!

This is your opportunity to meet the members and command group of the 1st Area Command and learn about who we are and what we do in support of the Louisiana National Guard and the people of Louisiana.

The Louisiana State Guard is an all-hazards emergency response organization made up of dedicated volunteers from all walks of life. Our members serve in a variety of roles including emergency management support, force protection, communications, drone operations, search & rescue, medical support, cyber operations, logistics, and more.

Whether you have prior military experience or simply a desire to serve, we invite you to come out, ask questions, and see if the LASG is right for you.

From handheld lights to weapon mounted systems, this course breaks down how lighting impacts your approach, threshold work, and suspect control.

You will work through varied lighting conditions, sharpen decision making under stress, and understand how mental conditioning, tactics, physical skill, and equipment all combine to increase your probability of winning.

No ammunition required. Bring your duty gear and lighting tools.
