Social Vines

Social Vines Social Vines is a family-owned Michigan vineyard near Ann Arbor & Dexter. Join us in celebrating this journey of passion and perseverance.

We offer wine tastings, bottles to go, and curated small bites—crafted with sustainable practices and a passion for premium, small-batch wines. Our Story: In the embrace of a historic 150-year-old red barn, our vineyard was born from a fusion of architectural skill and a passion for wine, reshaped by the challenges of the COVID-19 era. Lori and Brian Herron will begin the transformation of this on

ce-forgotten barn into a quaint/cozy tasting room, symbolizing our boutique vineyard. During the pandemic, Lori, an experienced occupational therapist, shifted her focus to viticulture, culminating in the planting of two acres of grapes in 2022 with family and friends’ support. Today, our vineyard stands as a symbol of resilience and love for wine, eagerly awaiting Lori’s Viticulture Certification in 2023. We are making wine today and plan to open our doors sometime in 2024.

We try hard to farm sustainably and work in tandem with nature, despite the challenging weather in Southeast Michigan. If we have to spray, we only treat problem areas so we don't harm plants around the vines. We also use grape varietals that thrive in our region, which reduces the risk of pests and other challenging issues. When you take a walk around the property, we hope you enjoy all of the beautiful native plants and animals that we work to protect.

As a small business, we keep as much in house as possible. That includes bottling our w**es. Our owner, Lori, and a few volunteers spend a Saturday transfering w**e from barrels into ready-to-drink bottles. It may be a lot of hard work, but it's also one of the most exciting points in the w**e making process. After months of fermentation, testing, racking, filtering, we finally get to share our work with you. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Looking for a few more volunteers for bottling Sept 19-20th! DM me if interested.

Just back from Dirt to Glass, a viticulture-focused conference that always leaves me with plenty to think about. I was happy to bring Sam, one of our vineyard employees, along this year!

We had a great time learning, connecting, and catching up with industry friends that I don’t get to see nearly often enough. Lots of great conversations, fantastic w**e and food.. plenty of takeaways, and new ideas to bring back to Social Vines and the vineyard. 🍇

Always grateful for the opportunity to keep learning and growing.

They're back!! Tomorrow! Hope to see you there. 🦞

From picking the right grapes, to fermentation time, to sugar levels, our founder Lori is invovled in every step of the process. You can't outsource quality.

Our pavilion is nothing without a community to fill it! When we see people find a seat and get lost in laughs and conversation, it reminds us why we love what we do. Our w**ery is called Social Vines for a reason. It was built for gathering.

We are open this weekend
Thursday 4-8pm
Friday 4-8pm
Saturday 2-8pm.
