Humble – Pray – Seek – Turn
Every day we hear of more and more chaos in our country. Students and radicals occupying college campuses, looting, and burning of property, the surge of people and drugs at our boarder, and crime in our streets.
2 Chronicles 7:14 offers an answer…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land (NIV).
Humility is difficult for the rich and powerful, and for many of us. I witnessed a room full of people and a nation in prayer recently during the National Day of Prayer, as they sought the face of God. Sin is still present in our world, but it can be overcome with the help of the Holy Spirit. We can turn from our wicked ways.
Is this possible? Absolutely, yes! But it will be difficult. It will take leadership and encouragement; it will require Christians to set aside any differences and work together.
Why not give this approach a try? What we have been doing is not working. God’s promise is real, and His Word is TRUTH! Christians (people, who are called by my name) must put our petty differences aside (humble themselves), call on the name of God (pray and seek my face), and confess our sins (turn from their wicked ways), we will receive the promise of God to heal this land.
