Our meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm, at VFW Post 1087, 4123 10th Ave South, Great Falls.

Today our American Legion Riders chapter stepped up to help our sponsoring post, American Legion Post 3 in Great Falls. The post has been putting up flags on Central Avenue for patriotic holidays since 1954, and has needed help the last few years. Up at 6:45 am and back down at 3:45 pm. So glad to have our new ALR chapter be able to help. Pictures from our ALR members.

Veterans Coffee Social tomorrow morning (Tuesday, May 19th) at the Great Falls Senior Center (upstairs). This month's speaker will discuss legislation for veterans at the federal and state levels currently being considered or are in the pipeline. An update on veteran affairs in the state will also be discussed! See you there at 8:30 am!

Pictures from the Friday, May 15th, ride. Es**rt of unclaimed remains of veteran Tyler (one of the 22 a day), from Lewistown to military honors funeral at Fort Harrison. Montana American Legion Riders chapters included Golden Triangle (Great Falls area), Lewistown (the lead chapter handling this), Havre, Billings Heights, Livingston, Gallatin Valley (Belgrade/Bozeman area), and MT Department ALR leadership. Thank you to American Legion Post 25 in White Sulphur Springs for filling our fuel tanks and offering a warm drink.

Our chapter rode from Great Falls this morning at 6:00 am to join up with our Lewistown (and other MT ALR chapters) comrades, to es**rt an unclaimed veteran (one of the 22 a day) to Fort Harrison, via White Sulphur Springs. American Legion Post 25 and its Auxiliary met us and filled our tanks and offered coffee. They all saluted as we left to continue down the road. At the Meagher County border, we were met by first responders to es**rt us through the county. A helicopter joined us too. Lewis & Clark Sheriff’s Office sent an es**rt to finish the ride from East Helena.

The Golden Triangle American Legion Riders will be departing the east side Walmart at 6:00 am, Friday, May 15th, for the ride to Lewistown to join this important mission.

Please join American Legion Riders Chapter 16 on Friday, May 15 to es**rt the remains of our fallen brother to his final resting place.

Departure times from gathering locations are listed below:
Lewistown, MT-American Legion Club-8:45 am
Harlowton, MT-Ray's Mini Mart-10:15 am
White Sulpher Springs, MT-Town Pump 11:45am

Interment with Military Honors will take place at MT State Veterans Cemetery, 3550 Heroes Road, Ft Harrison, MT at 13:30.

With the temperature being so cold and more potential snow showers, post leadership decided to cancel the BBQ at Elks Riverside Park for American Legion Family Day. Unfortunately, it may not even be above freezing by noon.

Held at 8:30 am at the Great Falls Senior Center (upstairs), our guest speaker this month is VFW MT Department Chaplain ‘Cowboy’ Bill Miles, to discuss efforts to reduce veteran su***de in the state. Public is invited to attend. Come have a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate on us!
