↓ find your place in legacy Our watchword is focus.

As the resource for African American business owners, partnerships, and corporations in Rural West Tennessee, the JMCAACC's objective is to help new and existing businesses reach their potential by using our resources to connect them with major corporations, community leaders, and other business owners so that they learn, grow and network for greater economic development and success. The strength of our businesses determines the strength of our communities and families. In keeping with that mission, we highlight outstanding contemporary and historical business owners through our Annual Jewel Awards Banquet. We train and educate young people, ages 12-18, for success in business (and in life) through our Follow Me Into Business® youth workforce development program that offers soft skills training, shadowing, mentoring, and internships or paid summer jobs. As part of the eight-week summer program, we also offer a tour of government offices and provide community service opportunities. We provide support for business owners with workshops and our latest effort is a new small business conference, the West Tennessee Business Showcase and Economic Development Conference. We also offer a morning of golf in fun with our Follow Me Celebrity Golf Classic held the second Tuesday in September. Many thanks to our staff and board members. We hope you will consider joining the Jackson Madison County African American Chamber. as a business owner or non-business supporting member. We also have memberships for corporations and corporate professionals.

Gestalt Community Schools | A Seat at the Table

Happening now! Congratulations to our community partner, Gestalt Community Schools, on bringing families and community leaders together for tonight’s informational event. Gestalt has built a strong record of work in Memphis. Tonight, they’re sharing that experience and their vision for what will come next in our community.

Parents and community members deserve the opportunity to ask questions, understand the vision, and have a voice in the future of education in their community.

The Legacy Chamber of West Tennessee is proud to be at the table. Education and economic opportunity are connected, and our students’ futures deserve the attention of our entire community.

Thank you, Gestalt, for making room for the conversation. Hats off to all the charter schools serving our region!

save this before you book your next event. before you book, here’s what to ask.

☐ how many people actually attended last time?
“interested” on facebook doesn’t count.

☐ who’s coming?
a crowd isn’t automatically your customer.

☐ how many vendors sell what i sell?
ask before you’re one of ten selling the same thing.

☐ how are you promoting it?
find out how the host plans to bring people through the door.

☐ where will my table be?
ask for the layout. location matters.

☐ what does my fee cover?
tables, chairs, electricity, parking. know what costs extra.

☐ what happens if it’s canceled?
get the refund and weather policy in writing.

then do your own math: how many sales will it take to cover your costs—not just the booth?
