Self-care doesn’t have to wait until you clock out. 🕠

September is Self-Care Awareness Month, and while we often think of self-care as something we practice at home, it matters during the workday, too!

Self-care doesn’t always mean taking a vacation, booking a spa day, or completely disconnecting. Sometimes, it’s the small choices you make throughout the day that protect your energy and support your well-being.

Try incorporating simple moments of self-care into your workday: 💛

-Take your full lunch break away from your desk when you can.
-Step outside for a few minutes and get some fresh air.
-Give your eyes and mind a break from the screen.
-Drink water and actually eat during busy days.
-Set realistic boundaries around your availability.
-Take a few deep breaths before moving from one meeting to the next.
-Ask for help when your workload becomes too much to manage alone.
-Give yourself permission to pause without feeling guilty about it.

And remember, self-care isn't a reward for finishing everything on your to-do list. 📝

It’s part of how you maintain the energy, clarity, and resilience you need to do your best work without constantly running on empty. This month, challenge yourself to find one small way to take better care of yourself every day, including while you're at work.

AI isn’t replacing the value your employees bring. It’s giving them more capacity to bring it. 💡

When used strategically, AI can take repetitive, time-consuming tasks off your team’s plate, helping employees analyze information faster, streamline workflows, improve communication, and spend more time on the work that requires something technology can’t replicate: judgment, creativity, relationships, and leadership.

But introducing AI into the workplace isn’t just a technology decision. It’s a workforce development decision.

The organizations that will benefit most from AI won’t simply give employees new tools and expect transformation to happen. They’ll prepare their people to use those tools effectively, rethink outdated workflows, and build a culture where technology supports, not overwhelms, the workforce.

That’s where the real opportunity is:

⚡ Less time lost to repetitive work
📈 More efficient and scalable workflows
💡 More capacity for problem-solving and innovation
🤝 More time for employees to focus on people and relationships
🎯 Better alignment between people, processes, and organizational goals

Sustainable growth happens when you invest in both the strategy and the people responsible for carrying it forward.

Remember, AI can accelerate the work. Your people make the impact. ✨

You can forgive what happened at work without pretending it didn’t hurt. 💡

Workplace hurt is real.

Maybe you were passed over for an opportunity you earned.
Maybe a leader broke your trust.
Maybe a colleague took credit for your work.
Maybe you were excluded, undervalued, or made to feel like your voice didn’t matter.

No matter the hurt… those experiences don’t always disappear when the workday ends.

On National Forgiveness Day, we’re reminded that forgiveness doesn’t mean excusing poor behavior or forgetting what happened. Sometimes, forgiveness is simply choosing not to let the experience continue taking up space in your life.

Healing from workplace hurt can look like: 💛

-Acknowledging what happened instead of minimizing it
-Giving yourself permission to feel disappointed or angry
-Setting healthier boundaries moving forward
-Having the difficult conversation when appropriate
-Learning from the experience without allowing it to define you
-Choosing peace, even when you never receive the apology you deserved

And for leaders, there’s another side to this conversation: creating workplaces where people don’t have to heal from the culture in the first place.

That requires empathy, accountability, communication, and the willingness to repair trust when it’s been broken.

This National Forgiveness Day, give yourself permission to release what no longer deserves to follow you as you make “Your Next Move.”

in 2025, we had the privilege of seeing a vision years in the making become a reality when we celebrated the opening of the Historic Westside Education & Training Center.

Back in 2018, JBM Strategic Partners co-founder Dr. Lisa Morris Hibbler worked alongside former Ward 5 Councilman Cedric Crear to bring the community together around a powerful idea: create a place where education, workforce training, and opportunity meet.

Today, that vision is opening doors by creating pathways to college degrees and careers in:

🔹 Health Care
🔹 Construction Trades
🔹 Technology
🔹 Advanced Manufacturing

It’s a powerful example of what can happen when local government, community partners such as the College of Southern Nevada, and committed leaders unite around a shared vision for the future. We believe workforce development is about more than preparing people for jobs. It’s about creating pathways to opportunity, strengthening communities, and building futures.

We’re proud to look back on this milestone, and even more excited about the opportunities still ahead.

The vision became a reality. The impact is just beginning.

We've come too far to stop now. 💪

This Women's Equality Day, we celebrate every woman who had the courage to lead, speak up, break barriers, and make the path a little wider for the women coming behind her.

But celebrating progress also means recognizing the work that remains.

Forbes reports that women still earn 16% less than men on average.

At JBM Strategic Partners, we know firsthand what women bring to the leadership table: experience, vision, resilience, and the ability to transform organizations and communities. We also know that talent alone isn't enough when opportunities aren't equitable.

That's why we believe organizations have a role to play, developing women leaders, creating pathways for advancement, and building systems where people have a genuine opportunity to reach their potential. 💫

Today, we honor the women who pushed us forward. Tomorrow, we keep pushing for:
-Equal opportunity.
-Equal recognition.
-Equal pay and for more women to be at the tables where decisions are made.

Equality isn't a milestone we simply celebrate. It's a future we keep working to build together. 🩵

Leadership isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes, it’s lonely.

It means making hard decisions, seeing possibilities others can’t see yet, and bridging the gap between where people are and where you know they can go.

In a conversation on the Out the Cage podcast, our founders, Dr. Lisa Morris Hibbler and Chrystal Morris Harry, get candid about the realities of leadership, vision, and what it takes to keep moving forward when others may not see the road ahead just yet.

It’s National Management Training Week, a reminder that great leaders aren’t simply promoted; they’re developed.

Strong leadership shows up in the everyday moments, like how you communicate when the pressure is on, how you listen when perspectives differ, and how you prepare others to step up and lead.

At JBM Strategic Partners, we believe effective leaders:

🔹 Communicate with clarity — especially when conversations are difficult.
🔹 Lead with integrity — because trust is built through consistency and accountability.
🔹 Listen before they lead — understanding people is essential to guiding them.
🔹 Develop others — great leaders don’t create followers; they build more leaders.
🔹 Turn strategy into action — because leadership should move people and organizations forward.

Leadership isn’t just about what you achieve. It’s about what you leave behind.

This week, invest in the people responsible for leading what comes next.

What if your next big opportunity didn’t come from an application, but from a conversation?

Networking can feel intimidating, especially when you think everyone else already knows who to talk to, what to say, and how to work the room.

But here’s the thing: you don’t have to be the loudest or most connected person in the room. You just have to be intentional.

-Start by showing up ✅
-Start a conversation ✅
-Ask thoughtful questions ✅
-Listen ✅
-Follow up ✅
-Be visible ✅

Focus less on what you can get from someone and more on building a genuine connection.

Because strong networks aren’t built by collecting contacts, they’re built through relationships, consistency, and trust.

Ready to be more intentional about your next career move? JBM Strategic Partners can help you elevate what comes next. Learn more at jbmstrategicpartners.com.

🍎 The first week of school is almost behind us...and working parents, you made it! 🎉

The early alarms. The packed lunches. The after-school pickups. The homework. The meetings.
You showed up!

As parents, making sure our children have everything they need is second nature. But somewhere between getting everyone else where they need to be, it's easy to forget that your well-being matters too.

Taking care of yourself isn't selfish; it's what allows you to keep showing up with patience, energy, and presence for the people who count on you most.

As you head into the weekend, consider making time to:

💙 Get some extra rest and recharge.
🥗 Nourish your body with healthy meals and plenty of water.
🚶 Take a walk or enjoy a little movement; even 15 minutes can help.
📱 Step away from work and social media for a while.
🤝 Lean on your support system when you need it.
🧘 Give yourself grace. This season is an adjustment for everyone.

Remember, your children don't need a perfect parent; they need a healthy, present one.

Here's to finding balance, taking care of yourself, and continuing to build strong families, strong workplaces, and strong communities.
