Not every network performance issue originates in the network itself. In AIX environments, inconsistent TCP tunable values can quietly introduce latency, throughput constraints, and unstable application behavior over time.

The challenge is maintaining consistency across systems as environments grow, teams change, and configurations drift.

In this article, we walk through how Zabbix and Event-Driven Ansible can be used to continuously monitor TCP tunables and automatically remediate deviations in real time.

For infrastructure teams focused on operational consistency, scalable administration, and modern network operations, this is a practical example of how automation reduces manual overhead while improving reliability.

Better infrastructure decisions start with better visibility.

As infrastructure teams face increasing pressure to justify cost, manage renewal risk, and plan with greater precision, the right operational metrics matter.

Our Galileo team has released a practical field guide focused on six infrastructure KPIs that help connect performance, utilization, and cost visibility.

For teams working through infrastructure planning, optimization, or cost accountability conversations, it’s a useful resource.

Employee recognition is taking on a sharper focus at ATS & Galileo.
Each recognition period now highlights one of our core company values and celebrates the people who bring it to life through their work.

For this cycle, the focus was Ownership.

Dan was recognized for stepping up as the lead technical SME on a high-visibility proof of concept, coordinating across multiple teams and delivering a successful outcome under demanding timelines, all while maintaining his existing client commitments.

Ownership is about more than accountability. It’s taking responsibility for outcomes, stepping into challenges, and doing what it takes to move important work forward.

Well deserved, Dan! Please join us in congratulating him.

Network refresh conversations usually start with hardware.

Switches.
Firewalls.
Wireless upgrades.
Carrier changes.

But the more useful question may be: what operating model actually makes sense for your team?

For some organizations, traditional ownership and internal management are still the right fit.

For others, the bigger constraints look different:
limited network staffing,
distributed locations,
refresh cycle planning,
vendor sprawl,
or the operational overhead of keeping everything current and supported.

That’s part of why newer models like Network as a Service are getting more attention.

A few questions worth pressure-testing before your next network refresh:

• Does our current model align with our internal staffing reality?
• Are we spending time managing infrastructure instead of improving it?
• How much friction comes from juggling multiple vendors, contracts, and support paths?
• Is predictable operating cost more useful than periodic capital refreshes?
• Does our current network model scale with how the business is actually growing?

Good infrastructure planning starts with asking the right questions.

ATS works with organizations across a range of network models, from traditional infrastructure to fully managed approaches. Need a sounding board for a network decision? We’re always happy to talk through options.

Network infrastructure planning has become less straightforward.
For some organizations, the right answer is traditional ownership and internal management. For others, operational constraints, staffing realities, growth plans, or distributed environments may point to a different model.

The important part is evaluating the tradeoffs clearly, not defaulting to the way networking has always been delivered.

Deployment complexity, support expectations, lifecycle management, internal skillsets, security requirements, and long-term cost structure all shape what makes sense.

If network modernization is on your roadmap, our Network Services team can support a range of models, whether that means traditional infrastructure, managed services, or newer delivery approaches, to help you make sound infrastructure decisions based on what actually fits.

ATS Group has entered into a new partnership with Meter, expanding our Network Services portfolio with a modern approach to delivering networking infrastructure.

As organizations manage growing connectivity demands, distributed environments, security concerns, and lean IT teams, many are rethinking how network infrastructure is deployed and supported.

Meter delivers networking infrastructure “as a service,” combining hardware, software, deployment, and ongoing operations into a single managed offering with predictable monthly pricing.

We believe this brings a compelling new option to organizations looking to simplify network operations without increasing burden on internal IT teams.

It's been great working with the Meter team on this partnership. Looking forward to what’s ahead!

One of the more common operational problems in enterprise IT is that too much knowledge lives in people instead of process.

What does that yield? You likely already know: inconsistency, slower response times, and environments that become harder to maintain as teams get stretched thinner.

Automation helps address that when it is implemented with operational discipline behind it. Not just scripts and tooling, but repeatable processes tied to how the environment runs day to day.

This eBook from Red Hat and ATS covers practical areas where enterprise teams are applying automation across infrastructure operations, including provisioning, patching, monitoring, and response workflows.

It's a good resource for teams evaluating where automation can realistically reduce operational burden and improve reliability.

Automation will be a big part of the conversation at IBM Think this week.

Most teams aren’t trying to automate more for the sake of it. They’re trying to make what they already have easier to manage, more consistent, and less dependent on manual effort.

The gap we see most often isn’t in tooling. It’s in how automation is applied.

Where it’s connected to real events across the environment, it reduces effort and helps teams respond faster.

Where it’s layered on top without that context, it can add just as much complexity as it removes.

That’s one of the areas we’ll be paying close attention to this week. Where automation is actually helping teams operate better, and where it still needs work.

IBM Think kicks off this week!
There’s a lot to take in, but here are a few areas we’ll be paying close attention to based on what we’re hearing from clients and seeing across the environments we support:

🔹How AI is being applied across infrastructure in real environments, not just in demos
🔹Where automation is streamlining operations versus adding complexity
🔹Managing hybrid environments without losing visibility across systems, storage, and cloud
🔹 How teams are using their data to connect performance, usage, and cost when making decisions

Looking forward to the conversations that happen around all of this, both in and outside the sessions, and we’ll be sharing what stood out once the week wraps.

Event-driven automation isn’t a new idea, but it’s becoming more relevant in how teams are actually operating.

As environments scale, the challenge in 2026 isn’t running tasks on a schedule, but rather responding to what’s happening in real time, without adding more manual effort.

That’s the natural next step from the automation work many teams are already doing.

Standardizing patching, deployments, and compliance brings consistency.
Connecting those actions to events across the environment is what allows systems to respond as things change.

This article gets into how that works and where teams are seeing real impact:
