A few weeks ago, we shared the finished testing device TDI built for K-State’s High School 3D-Printed Bridge Competition. Now, here’s a look at where that project started. 🌉

Before fabrication begins, CAD modeling helps our engineers visualize the design, work through dimensions and make changes before anything reaches the shop floor.

It’s a key step in turning an idea into something real, and this project is a great example of that process from CAD to completed build.

Recently, TDI was contacted by a client to help solve an ergonomic challenge on their assembly line.

Employees were manually installing film rolls weighing around 50 pounds each inside the assembly line, creating unnecessary strain during the installation process.

TDI developed a solution that allows the rolls to be installed from outside the assembly line, making the process safer and easier for employees.

Sometimes, a small change can make a big difference in workplace safety.

A TDI engineer and engineering student intern designed and built a testing device that will be used in next semester’s High School 3D-Printed Bridge Competition at K-State! 🌉

The competition challenges high school students to design and 3D print their own bridges, putting their engineering skills, creativity and problem-solving to the test. The bridges are then tested to see how much weight they can hold.

This new testing device will give students the opportunity to put their designs to the test and see how their ideas perform under real-world conditions.

We’re excited to see what next semester’s students build!
