Today the National Fraud Enforcement Division announced that its Health Care Fraud Unit, one of the most active white-collar litigating components across the Department, secured federal jury trial convictions involving over $1.1 BILLION in six trials in just under three weeks.

“What sets the Fraud Division apart is not only our ability to proactively detect, investigate and dismantle fraud schemes before they cause further harm, but the depth and skill of the trial lawyers who carry those cases across the finish line. The American people should rest assured that we are prepared to seek accountability at trial for health care fraudsters, whether for a $1 million fraud in Michigan or a $1 billion fraud in South Florida.” - Colin McDonald, Assistant Attorney General for the National Fraud Enforcement Division

CASE UPDATE from FBI - Atlanta FBI, Indonesian Authorities Take Down Global Phishing Network Behind Millions in Fraud Attempts

In a first-of-its-kind joint cyber investigation, the Atlanta Field Office and Indonesian law enforcement authorities have dismantled a sophisticated global phishing operation that enabled cybercriminals to steal thousands of victims’ account credentials and attempt more than $20 million in fraud. The operation centered on the W3LL phishing kit, a widely used cybercrime tool that allowed criminals to impersonate legitimate login pages to trick victims into handing over their usernames and passwords.

An alien from El Salvador with a removal order from more than 25 years ago, was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement when he appeared at our Charlotte office for a family petition interview.

Outstanding removal orders will not get past intense screening and vetting procedures put in place by the Trump Administration. When a judge orders removal, the law will be enforced.

Legendary Cuban singer Celia Cruz has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2026, becoming the first salsa artist and Afro-Latina to receive this recognition. The official announcement was made on April 14, 2026, marking a milestone not only for Latin music but also for the history of rock and global popular culture.

The performer, known worldwide as the “Queen of Salsa,” was honored posthumously in the Early Influence Award category, which recognizes artists whose work directly influenced the development of rock & roll, even if their music does not strictly belong to the genre. In Cruz’s case, her musical legacy and the strength of Afro-Caribbean rhythms played a key role in shaping the evolution of popular music in the United States.

The official ceremony will take place in the city of Cleveland, home of the Hall of Fame, during the second half of 2026, where her legacy will be celebrated alongside other influential artists from different generations.

TODAY: The Justice Department’s Weaponization Working Group published a report detailing the Biden Administration’s weaponization of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.

“This Department will not tolerate a two-tiered system of justice,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “No Department should conduct selective prosecution based on beliefs. The weaponization that happened under the Biden Administration will not happen again, as we restore integrity to our prosecutorial system.”
