It doesn’t take much for our digital spaces to become a chaotic mess.

Here are 3️⃣ digital spaces I recommend spending a bit of time on a regular basis to sort, reconfigure and purge.

Top of the list is your inbox…or inboxes for that matter. Create a folder system that works for you and file things that need to be kept, unsubscribe to the newsletters that you’re no longer interested in, and respond to anything needing a reply.

Second, is your desktop. Create a filing system and put away anything just floating around without a spot. Seeing less clutter when you log in will help you feel less stress and allow you to zoom in and focus on the task at hand.

Third, is your screenshot folder. You know that recipe you promised yourself you’d make but never circled back to? Or that motivational quote that made you feel like a million bucks a few weeks ago? Create a system for the things you’d like to revisit, set a motivational quote as your desktop or phone wallpaper and get rid of whatever no longer resonates with you.

Pro tip: Create a smile file where you file all the feel-good images and when you’re having an off day, go visit that file as a pick me up.

Helping you get control of your clutter and simplify your life in 5 easy steps:

1️⃣ Phone Consultation
This is free of charge and we will discuss your organizing needs and assess if your projects in mind are within our scope of practice. During the conversation, we will also decide if we are a good fit to work collaboratively with each other. Next, we will set up a time to meet in person.

2️⃣ Home/Office Consultation & First Session
You will give me a tour of your home, highlighting the areas of concern and we will prioritize what needs to be done. Organizing product recommendations will also be given at this time, and during subsequent organizing sessions.

3️⃣ Project Assessment Plan
This will be organized in an online project management system that you will be able to customize and edit. Everything that needs to be done will be fully documented and then archived as the tasks are completed.

4️⃣ Subsequent Organizing Sessions
Usually 3-4 hours each
Future sessions will be set up to accomplish the projects laid out in the assessment plan, and based on your specific needs.

5️⃣ Maintenance
An organized lifestyle requires the continual process of maintaining balance in your living and working spaces. We can create a maintenance plan to keep your home or office organized. Periodic tune-up sessions can also be scheduled once the initial projects are completed.

Absolutely not. I do not impose a rigid system of purging on my clients, and the functionality of spaces is emphasized over perfection. My clients are empowered to make decisions about what to keep and which items to shed without being pressured to become a hard-core minimalist.

Friday desk space got you down? I thought so.

Paperwork is likely one of the last things you organize since the reward of reorganizing a whole room is far greater, but don’t underestimate the power of decluttering your brain.

Knowing you have all kinds of administrative tasks that need to be completed can weigh heavily and make it difficult to reduce stress or anxiety.

There is no better time to organize your paperwork than right now. Grab a cup of tea, play your favorite music and get organized.

I hate to mention it, but tax season is right around the corner. You’ll be grateful it’s done.
