While President Trump claims to have been elected to fight impunity, many of his actions have instead compounded it.

Amid Trump's "political revolution," America's overall impunity ranking rose six places from the end of Biden's term through the first year of Trump 2.0 — with increases in the US's scores for unaccountable governance, economic exploitation, environmental degradation, and conflict and violence.

Trump has taken several norm-breaking actions that he argues will rebalance US governance and its economic and security relations in favor of Americans. However, many of these measures are clear acts of self-interest, legal overreach, and serious erosions of institutional checks.

The time has come to bid our Eurasia Group and GZERO Media summer interns farewell.

This year's cohort participated in ping-pong tournaments, attended World Cup watch parties, and, of course, engaged in the time-honored tradition of presenting their group research presentations to the firm.

Every summer, we learn as much from them as they do from us. The breadth and depth of our network are among Eurasia Group's best assets, and we are fortunate to call these impressive members of the next generation part of ours.
