LifeShare of Oklahoma You have the opportunity to save lives: be an organ, eye and tissue donor! The 21,109 square foot building was completely renovated both inside and out.

LifeShare, created in 1986 as The Oklahoma Organ Sharing Network, is a nonprofit, federally designated organ procurement organization (OPO) dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissue for transplant purposes. We work closely with five transplant centers (OU Medical Center, The Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center, Integris Baptist Medical Center, Saint Francis Hospital and St. John’s Medical Center) and 145 healthcare organizations in the state of Oklahoma to facilitate donation. Additionally, we strive to raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation through public education. LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma is located at 4705 NW Expressway in Oklahoma City. LifeShare has an in-house communications center for tissue screening and a fully operational clean room to enhance kidney pump operations. There is a secondary office located in Tulsa and tissue recovery center in Oklahoma City. LifeShare has approximately 100 staff members responsible for various tasks including organ, eye and tissue screening and recovery, medical management of potential donors, quality control services, bereavement care for families, public education and awareness, hospital development and basic administration.

While we’re not surprised by the generosity of Oklahomans, we have to clear up this popular search.

No, you can’t donate your ankle to J-Dub. 🏀

But you CAN register to be an organ, eye and tissue donor and give someone else a second chance at life, sight or mobility.

We're sending lots of love and well wishes to J-Dub 💙🧡

Jacob Brandon was a proud U.S. Marine, a beloved son and brother, and a young man who lived with a generous heart.

When Jacob became an organ and tissue donor, his final act of service created an extraordinary legacy of healing.

His donation included both eyes, a heart valve, two major veins and 127 bone, tissue and skin grafts. His gifts restored sight to two people and helped heal 132 lives.

For Jacob’s family, knowing his final act gave others the opportunity to heal and live on brings comfort in the midst of unimaginable loss.

The LifeShare Foundation was established to support the activities and initiatives of LifeShare Network and help save more lives through organ, eye and tissue donation.

The Foundation extends LifeShare’s philanthropic outreach, builds partnerships across Oklahoma and creates an outlet for those touched by donation — including donor families, transplant recipients, recipient families and community members.

From supporting programs and initiatives to creating opportunities for connection and giving back, the Foundation helps extend the impact of the gift of life beyond donation.

The LifeShare Foundation is where generosity becomes impact.

Thank you to INTEGRIS Health for bringing together dedicated professionals to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships and advance transplant care through education and collaboration.

Living with cystic fibrosis, Ethan’s health declined throughout his teenage years. By 18, he was on oxygen and facing end-stage CF. After nearly three years of testing, he was finally placed on the transplant waiting list in December 2014 with just 18% lung function and relying on six liters of oxygen.

Then, on Jan. 19, 2015, Ethan got the call he had been waiting for: they had lungs for him.

After a long night in surgery, Ethan was breathing on his own for the first time in years. When asked how he felt, his response was simple: “This is amazingly awesome.”

More than a decade later, Ethan’s story is a powerful reminder of what organ donation can make possible. This Healthy Lung Month, we honor the donor whose gift gave Ethan the opportunity to breathe, live and look toward the future.

💙 One decision can give someone a second chance at life. Register your decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor today.
