🏰 Durham University: tradition, community and opportunity
My recent visit to Durham University offered a fascinating look at a university where history is everywhere, but student life is anything but stuck in the past.
Founded in 1832, Durham is the third oldest university in England and is home to a unique 17-college system. Students belong to both their academic department and their residential college, creating two communities to call home. Durham University

I also toured St Chad’s College, visited Durham Cathedral, and attended a class featuring the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program.
What struck me most was the sense of belonging built into the Durham experience. Whether through a college choir, rowing team, theater company, society, or sports team, students have countless ways to become part of the community.
For students considering university in the UK, Durham is definitely a university worth exploring.
