As we head into fall cleanup season, please remember that not everything can be burned outdoors. Ohio EPA regulations are in place to protect public health, safety, and air quality.

🔥 KNOW BEFORE YOU BURN 🔥

✅ Allowed Open Burning (with restrictions): • Small recreational fires, campfires, and cookouts using clean, seasoned firewood. • Certain yard waste, brush, leaves, and tree trimmings may be burned in areas outside city limits and restricted areas, subject to Ohio EPA regulations.

❌ Never Allowed Anywhere in Ohio: • Household garbage • Tires • Plastics and plastic-coated materials • Petroleum-based products • Auto parts • Dead animals (unless specifically approved by a governing agency for disease control)

⚠️ Additional Rules: • Open burning is prohibited during air pollution alerts, warnings, or emergencies. • Smoke cannot create a visibility hazard for roads, railroads, or airfields. • Materials generated off-site cannot be transported and burned at another location.

Burning prohibited materials releases toxic pollutants that can impact your health, your neighbors, and the environment. When possible, consider recycling, composting, or proper waste disposal alternatives.

WOW! What an incredible 2026 Open House! 🚒

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday and helped make the event a huge success. We enjoyed meeting so many community members, showing off our fire and EMS services, and sharing some great food with everyone.

A big congratulations to 2 Unit for winning this year's Chili Cook-Off! 🌶️🏆

During September 2026, Liberty Township Fire Department responded to 345 calls for service, including emergency medical incidents, fire responses, hazardous conditions, service calls, and alarm activations.

Behind every number is a neighbor, family member, visitor, or business that needed assistance. We are proud to serve this community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and grateful for the continued support of our residents.

Delaware County residents can dispose of up to 10 passenger tires FREE at the 2026 Tire Disposal Event and help reduce mosquito breeding sites in our community!

**🚧 Road Closure Notice – Liberty Township 🚧**

The Delaware County Engineer’s Office has announced that **Wren Lane at Carriage Road** in Liberty Township will be **closed for road reconstruction from September 21, 2026, through October 5, 2026**.

✅ Access for residents and school buses will be maintained.
✅ Work is weather permitting.
🚗 Motorists are encouraged to follow all posted detours.
