FAQ: What’s the cable for during hot refueling? 🧐

That’s the bonding cable, and you’ll see it being connected and disconnected as part of the refueling process on all of our helicopters like this Bell 430. Before fueling begins, the helicopter is bonded to the refueling equipment to equalize electrical potential and help prevent static discharge during the process.

With fully-equipped support vehicles, we’re capable of keeping an aircraft operational and avoid unnecessary delays.

The radio calls, hand signals, nods, and checks you see are how our ground crew and pilots work together to safely lift and transport large, unwieldy equipment like utility poles and the transformer we previously posted.

When equipment is too large, heavy, or difficult to move by traditional means, our helicopters can provide a solution.

Long line operations allow our team to place heavy equipment such as this 3 phase transformer bank in areas that can be difficult or impossible to reach by traditional methods - in remote areas with trees, power lines, and limited space all around. ⚡️

How much water can a UH-60 Blackhawk carry? 💧🔥

HP’s UH-60 is configured with the Helitak FT4500 and carries 1,000 gallons, can refill while hovering in roughly 50 seconds, and deliver a full load in as little as 4.2 seconds.

When you’re working over rugged terrain on an active fire inaccessible to ground crews, every drop counts. The ability to make multiple drops in the shortest timeframe possible helps boots on the ground get the fire out fast.  We put that water where it’s needed most.
