🚨 SCAM ALERT — Be careful, cleaning business owners! 🚨

I want to share this because these messages can look so real that, especially when you’re new to the cleaning business, it’s easy to fall for them.

I received a text from someone saying they had a house that needed cleaning, but they wouldn’t be home. Then they said they were out of town and wanted to pay in advance so there wouldn’t be any issues with the payment.

At first, you might think, “Okay, this could be a normal customer.”

Then they said they would send me a check and asked what name to make the check out to.

That’s when I started thinking: 🚩 Something doesn’t feel right.

Especially when they don’t want to make the check out to the company, or they start giving you instructions about how to handle the money.

I’m sharing this because scams like this are getting more convincing, and the people behind them know exactly what to say to make themselves sound like real customers.

If you’re new to the business, be very careful with anyone who wants to pay you in advance with a check, especially if they’re not going to be at the property.

Don’t be afraid to say NO and verify everything before accepting the job.

I’m sharing this conversation so other cleaning business owners can recognize the red flags and hopefully avoid losing money.
