Today we celebrate the workforce that powers Greater Richmond. This Labor Day, let's dig into the data behind the talent.

738,000+ people make up the Greater Richmond labor force, drawn from a labor shed of nearly 2.8 million.

More than 40% of residents are ages 25 to 54 form the heart of the working population.

40.2% hold a bachelor's degree or higher, compared with 37% nationally.

More than 1.7 million higher education students study within 150 miles of the region.

And we add 251 net new residents every week.

Those numbers describe a talent base that is built by amazing people: the manufacturing technicians, nurses, logistics crews, developers, coders, servers, designers, lab scientists and tradespeople who show up every day across the City of Richmond and Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico counties.
