Monroe County / WM ecopark The ecopark is an innovative partnership between Monroe County and Waste Management to provide a "one stop drop off" for residential recycling.

As you clean out lockers, desks, cubbies and backpacks, remember to recycle right and keep reusable items out of the trash.

Perfectly good school supplies like markers, scissors, pens & pencils don’t belong in the trash. Save usable items for next year or donate supplies in good condition to help others.

This weekend marks the official start of summer! If you're firing up the backyard grill, opening a pool, or preparing for outdoor festivities, keep in mind that some commonly-used items require special handling.

Propane and helium tanks should never go in the trash or recycling bin—even when they seem empty. They can spark dangerous fires and explosions in trucks and recycling facilities. The same goes for items like lithium and rechargeable batteries and pool chemicals.

Bring them to the ecopark (appointment only required for household hazardous waste) for proper disposal to help keep Monroe County safe, clean, and beautiful all summer long.
