The Continuing Challenge

The Continuing Challenge Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Workshop Over 100 classroom sessions, hands-on courses, and contests to test new skills are featured.

What We Do

Each year, the first week of September, prominent and skilled presenters volunteer to provide students with the most recent information available to enhance or grow skills critical to ensure safe and effective response to hazardous materials incidents. Advancements in hazardous material emergency response are dynamic and attendance at this popular annual workshop is critical in promoti

ng the health and safety of responders, the public, and the environment. The workshop is designed to provide the student with the latest information while maintaining the basics for students new to the HazMat industry.

Disasters that are not caused by the weather, such as pandemics, hazardous material spills, and chemical attacks can occur no matter where you live โ€” and Orange County is no exception.

This Heatstroke Prevention Day, take care to check for loved ones in the back seat. Parked cars heat up rapidly and they can become deadly for children in a short amount of time. Cracking a window does not provide enough protection against heatstroke. Everyone can prevent hot car deaths.

- Always check your back seat.
- Never leave a child alone in a vehicle.
- Check your car before leaving it unattended so kids donโ€™t get in and get trapped.
- Keep a personal item in the back seat to remind yourself to check before locking the car.
