My first Sloyd student to try wood turning on the lathe!

One of my Joiner students! Spalted Magnolia box with a cherry swivel lid. Rabbett joints for the sides with brass nails and a recessed bottom. Finished with Tallahassee Tung Oil. Once again these students amaze me.Tallahassee Tung Oil

Generous donation to the kids woodworking program!

My cup is running over today. Edmund called and said bring a truck. I did not realize that meant he was donating slabs of cherry, red bay, old growth cypress and MAHOGANY! Plus braces, bit and a canvas roll of vintage chisels. For all my students today you need to go easy on my. I loaded and unloaded at least 1000 pounds of free lumber this morning.

Congratulations Evan and Maddy

It was a beautiful wedding for my nephew Evan and newest member of the family Maddy. I was honored to make the stand for their wedding cake.

New Class Offering! For students who prefer to work at their own pace. Some students thrive in a formal class with firends who are working on the same project. Other thrive when they are allowed to work at their own pace. This new class is designed for the second group. The woodworker will complete the same 10 projects but not rushed to finish by the end of the class. After receiving 1 on 1 instruction on the new skill, the woodworker will follow written/ picture instruction to complete. Since this is my first time using this format class size is limited to 6. Starts Friday October 16 at 10AM. Click here to check it out:
