Today, we pursue the same vision of winemaking, cultivation, and hospitality passed down for generations. Wine lovers have made a pilgrimage to Grgich Hills Estate ever since Miljenko “Mike” Grgich crafted the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay that beat the best of France at the famed 1976 Paris Tasting, allowing Mike to partner with Austin Hills to open our family-owned-and-operated winery in 1977. Nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, we’re an iconic winery that farms naturally, without artificial pesticides or herbicides. Our vineyards are certified organic and we use our passion and art to handcraft food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines.

Far before our w**es go to barrel, our Regenerative Organic Certified estate vineyards are creating grapes worthy of Grgich Hills Estate bottles.

We believe in minimal intervention. In the cellar, this means we rely on the thousands of strains of native yeast found naturally on our grapes. These unique native yeasts are what give our w**es their unmistakable sense of place.
