Does MobiusPay require a long-term contract? 📝
The answer comes down to the merchant processing agreement for your account. Before choosing a payment processing solution, understand these five details:
🔹 Term length: The initial term explains how long the agreement lasts and when it begins. Confirm whether your account has a fixed commitment or operates month to month.
🔹 Renewal: Check whether the agreement renews automatically, how long each renewal lasts, and the deadline for opting out.
🔹 Cancellation notice: Review how much advance notice is required, whether it must be in writing, and where to send it. Simply stopping payment processing is not necessarily the same as canceling your account.
🔹 Early termination: Check whether ending the agreement before its term expires triggers a fee or other payment obligation, how that amount is calculated, and whether any exceptions or written waivers apply.
🔹 Where to look: Review the merchant application, fee schedule, incorporated terms and conditions, and any addenda. Look for sections titled “Term,” “Renewal,” “Termination,” and “Notices.” Separate gateway or equipment agreements may have their own requirements.
Understanding your merchant account contract should be part of choosing your payments partner. Ask questions before signing, and have any agreed changes documented in writing.
