Maggie Karshner, self-employment coach Know what you love to do, but not sure how to make a living at it? Not sure what you're meant to do, Have passion & ideas but need direction & structure?

Not sure what you're meant to do, but you know it's not what you're doing now? I want to help you identify and refine your dream job/business so you can live the fulfilled life that you deserve! I thrive from working with people who have an idea (or many ideas) of what their calling may be, but are not sure how to turn that into a career/business, or are fearful of taking that leap. I work with a

practice of exploration, conquering fear and self-sabotage through small, manageable steps, and consistency balanced with revision and adjustment. I believe you have a calling, and when you find it, it unlocks doors inside you and the universe provides for you in ways you've never experienced before. (And sometimes it's a whole new kind of terrifying.) I believe the universe is abundant, and that does not mean your path will be a cake walk. I have faith that together we are completely capable of finding answers to whatever challenges you may face. I excel with clients who want to make a difference in the world and seek heart-centered work. My clients typically seek life balance that incorporates movement, spirituality, and/or holistic health approaches. I have two year’s experience in coaching creative solo-preneurs, and a year of corporate business consulting experience. I managed a yoga studio for three years, and worked in non-profits for five years. I am an entrepreneur myself twice over: In addition to my coaching practice, I’m co-owner of Rain City Blues, an annual blues dance event in Seattle, WA. It was lauded as extremely well organized and broke even in our first year running the event. I'm all about working efficiently, having a healthy life-balance, and creating a career/business that sustains you.

⏳ Short is not sweet when it comes to blog titles.

If your headline is too short, it leaves your readers with nothing to grab onto—and worse, search engines may have no clue what your article is really about. That means fewer clicks, less reach, and your hard work staying hidden.

But that doesn’t mean you should just pile on words randomly either. A strong blog title gives enough context and emotion to spark curiosity, while staying focused on a single idea. The sweet spot is a title that connects with your human audience and signals clearly to the algorithms what your article delivers.

Finding that balance is key to turning your blog from something people scroll past into something they can’t resist clicking.

Want to learn how to do it without falling into clickbait traps? 👉 Read the full article for the 3 secrets to stronger blog titles!

Self-employment isn’t just about making money or being your own boss — it’s about freedom. ✨

Freedom to define success on your own terms.
Freedom to work in ways that honor your energy, your values, and your community.
Freedom to unlearn the systems that told you your worth was tied to productivity.

When you build a business that’s truly yours, you’re not just liberating yourself — you’re helping to liberate others, too. 🌱
Because every time one of us chooses authenticity over exploitation, balance over burnout, and purpose over profit, we create a ripple effect.

That’s the real power of self-employment — not isolation, but collective liberation.

If you’re ready to create a business that supports your freedom and contributes to something bigger, I’d love to help. 💛

If you've never looked at a Profit & Loss report before, here's your sign to start. 👀 It's not as scary as it sounds — in fact, it's one of the most useful tools a small business owner has. See a number that doesn't feel right? That instinct is valuable! Your gut-check IS part of the process. 🔍 The P&L tells the story of your business's financial health in a way a bank statement simply can't. It can feel tempting to skip a written agreement — especially when you trust the other person or want things to feel “easy.” ✋
But clarity is what actually keeps things easy.

A written agreement isn’t about distrust or legal posturing. It’s about slowing down long enough to make sure everyone is on the same page. When expectations live only in someone’s head (yours or theirs), misunderstandings are almost guaranteed. Memory is slippery. Assumptions creep in. Feelings get hurt. 😬

Putting things in writing creates calm.
It gives both people something steady to refer back to when questions come up — not to argue, but to ground the conversation. Done well, a contract protects the relationship, not just the business. ✨

If contracts feel intimidating or overkill, there’s a more humane way to think about them — and I wrote about it on the blog.

👉 Go read the article to understand how clear agreements build confidence instead of conflict.
