Harvest Moon Ranch - An Intuitive Approach....., The ranch focus is balanced between the horse’s needs and the human’s needs. Ruby’s definitely liking her easy care sticky one composite shoes more than her versa octos. It took a couple days in the new sticky’s for her to decide but she’s quite happy now. Allot more free movement and she’s back to running around like the fruity 26 year old she is.

Added a fresh layer of paving gravel to the Feed areas today so hopefully the humans will be more comfortable over the winter. We spend so much time getting everything ready for the horses over winter that sometimes we forget to spend enough time on what will make it more comfortable for the humans lol. So working on that for the next few days.

Bit by Bit - getting closer to being ready for winter.

I’ve had allot of conversations about this horse toy in the last couple of weeks. People seemed to mostly believe that you need to fill it with treats and no body wants there horses eating huge container of treats daily. I’ve never used it that way. I fill it primarily with hay and then a few low sugar hay cubes.

It’s my favorite enrichment activity toy. It encourages movement. It provides food esp in the middle of the night. It lasts all my horses at least 24 hours some a bit longer. It’s safe & all the horses seem to enjoy it.

Some horses are soooo spooked by mechanical or noisy equipment but not Liaden. She walks in to get a closer look lol
