Some days are magical.

Today was one of those days.

I had the opportunity to spend time with an exceptional leader and came away energized, encouraged, and grateful.

People Aren’t Resisting Change.
They’re trying to keep up with Exponential Change.

There’s going to be more change in the next 5 years than we’ve experienced in the past 100.
And our brains aren’t wired for that pace.

Our brains crave:
• stability
• predictability
• answers

And when we don’t know:
• what’s going to happen
• how bad this could get
• what to do next…

People slow down.
They get stuck.
They hesitate.
They get cautious.
Decision-making drops.
Stress rises.
Performance suffers.

Most leaders think people are resisting change.
Many times, they’re not.

They’re experiencing Change Uncertainty.
And that’s why Adaptability Intelligence matters more than ever.

Right now, I’m seeing it everywhere:
• organizational restructuring
• AI disruption
• modernization
• workforce uncertainty
• people questioning where they fit
• people wondering if they can still keep up

A recent conversation really hit me.
Someone recently told me many employees won’t even leave their desks for lunch anymore because they’re afraid of falling behind.
That really stayed with me.

The pressure to constantly reinvent yourself, learn new systems, and adapt nonstop is taking an emotional toll.
That’s the human side of Exponential Change.
Because helping people adapt starts with understanding what they’re experiencing.
