The reverse of this 1961 Topps Carl Yastrzemski note's that "the entire Boston camp is predicting stardom for the most exciting Red Sox rookie to come along since Ted Williams."

A daunting comparison, to be sure, but Yaz delivered. Over a 23-year career, he compiled 452 home runs and 3,419 hits, earning his place among the game's all-time greats.

His finest season came in 1967, when Yastrzemski had arguably the best season in franchise history, capturing the A.L. Triple Crown and MVP, while leading the Sox to their first pennant since 1946.👑
