Fall grant deadlines are here, and the strongest proposals were not written the week they were due.
.
Winning proposals have three things in common: a clear need statement, a budget that matches the narrative, and outcomes a funder can actually picture.
That is exactly what we build for nonprofits and small businesses:
✍️ Grant writing: Foundation applications to federal proposals, with the story and the numbers to back it up.
📋 RFP responses: When a funder or agency opens a Request for Proposals, we help you answer it in a way that stands out.
Eight years of proposals have taught us the best time to start is before you feel ready. Let's get ahead of your next deadline: aprilwillisconsulting.com

Happy birthday to the woman who started it all. 🎂
.
Eight years ago, April opened April Willis Consulting believing people are capable of far more than their resumes show. She has been proving it ever since, one client, one grant, and one stage at a time.
Here's to another year of big goals, good people, and helping others reach higher. Happy birthday, Dr. Willis! 🥂

Monday, October 26 is the Southlake Style Women's Luncheon, and we could not be more excited to be in the room. 💐
Our good friend Lynda Warner is moderating the panel, and we are thrilled that Mimi Tran and Me Squared Cancer Foundation will be the beneficiary of this year's event. Supporting women who lift up other women is exactly how we want to spend a celebration month.
If you are attending, come find April. If you are not, follow along and consider supporting Me Squared Cancer Foundation .

Eight years of April Willis Consulting. Eleven years of writing resumes for this community. And this month, every dollar goes somewhere good. ✍️
From now through October 31, 100% of proceeds from our resume writing services will fund free annual memberships to the National Nonprofit Collaborative.
Here is how it works. Your first resume with us is name-your-own-price. You decide what it is worth, and this month that amount goes toward giving a nonprofit a full year of NNC resources, templates, and support. You get a resume built to survive the 6 to 8 second scan and land on a human's desk, and a nonprofit gets the tools to grow its impact. 💙
April has been writing resumes since before AWC had a name, and this is her favorite way to say thank you.

The American Reporter recently featured Dr. April Willis, and one line describes how we have worked since day one in 2018. 📰
Before we recommend a single service, we start with two questions: Where are you right now, and where do you want to be?
It sounds obvious, but a lot of consulting skips it. A resume rewrite, a grant, an executive search, or a strategic plan only works if it is aimed at the right target. So we ask first, then build.
Eight years later, that is still the first conversation we have with every client.
