Why some teams just work better than others?
It's not always about talent or resources. Sometimes it's just that people actually TALK to each other.
Not "sync up" or "touch base", actually communicate. When something's not working, they say it. When they don't understand something, they ask. When they have a different idea, they share it.
Sounds simple, right? But how often do we actually do it?
We can catch ourselves all the time: sitting in meetings nodding along when we're confused, or waiting days to bring up an issue because we're trying to find the "right way" to say it. Meanwhile, the problem gets bigger and everyone's time gets wasted.
The difference between a good working relationship and a frustrating one often comes down to whether people feel like they can just be direct.
The point is: just say the thing. Whatever it is you're holding back in your next meeting or email, just say it. Chances are, everyone else is thinking it too.
