The Vancouver, Washington City Government has launched a new citywide $2.4 million Revolving Loan Fund designed to expand access to capital for small businesses.

The program supports businesses that are opening, stabilizing, or growing but may not qualify for traditional financing. Eligible businesses may use loan funding for equipment, working capital, rent, wages, and other business needs.

Did you know❓Currently, Washington state requirements for pregnancy-related accommodations apply to employers with 15 or more employees and are enforced by the Washington State Office of the Attorney General.

Under the 2025 legislation (https://loom.ly/IhI_YeM) the new requirements will go into effect Jan. 1, 2027, apply to all employers in the state, and transfer enforcement to Washington State Department of Labor & Industries.

We’re excited to welcome Brenda Julian to the Greater Vancouver Chamber team this summer, joining us through the Future Leaders Project.

Brenda is currently pursuing a degree in Finance at WSU Vancouver and is eager to gain hands-on experience while supporting the Chamber’s work and the local business community. 🏆Congratulations, Calista!

We are incredibly proud of our Civics Bee finalists - Calista, Aaryana, and Nirvan - who represented our region at the Washington State Finals last Saturday in Olympia. During the state championship, students competed in two rounds of live quiz questions on American government, the U.S. Constitution, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens.

A special congratulations to Calista, a seventh-grade homeschool student, who earned 1st place in the 2026 National Civics Bee Washington State Finals. She received a $1,000 prize and will go on to represent Washington State at the National Civics Bee Championship in Washington, D.C. this fall.

Construction has started on the final block of downtown Vancouver Main Street, with major work currently in progress on three blocks:

🚧 800 block: Closed through June
🚧 900 block: Closed through late July, including the Ninth and Main Street intersection
🚧 1000 block: Closed through the end of June. The Evergreen Boulevard and Main Street intersection is closed through late July
