It began during World War I to assess soldiers' ability to cover 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) with an 11-kilogram (25 pounds) rucksack timed, ensuring they remained combat-ready afterward. For West Point - The U.S. Military Academy it started at 8pm and concluded around 1 am. Salute to these fine young American men and women. Just another day in the life....
