Happy Birthday, Larry Gomes!
Some people build a community from a stage. Others build it quietly, from behind the scenes. Larry is the second kind, and Bangla Collective might not exist without him. Before anyone knew the names Bangla Events, Bangla Bulletin, or Bangla Directory, Larry believed in us. He isn't a businessman, yet he was one of the very few who stepped forward. He trusted us to manage his event. We learned from it, and then he inspired us to turn that skill set into a real community initiative. Much of who we are today began with that those acts of trust.
Larry's kindness is calm and quiet. Once, our founder was invited to an event and didn't have a proper suit. When Larry found out, he didn't make a fuss. He simply took him to the nearest shopping center and bought him one. That's Larry: whenever we need something, he's already there, silently supportive.
He's an IT professional and a devoted family man. Today he's also in real estate and the title industry, helping families buy their first home in the USA. He knows one bad title search can turn a dream into a nightmare, so he stays on top of every detail for his clients. And then there's the artist. Larry plays bass, loves rock and metal, and owns more than 350 vinyl records. Artists are different. They listen for what others miss, and they hold the rhythm so everyone else can shine. Maybe that's why Larry has always been the steady bassline beneath our story.
