We look forward to being part of the upcoming Gauteng Women In Insurance Women's Day event in August, thank you for the opportunity to also call out a special message from our MD in Fulcrum Collections, Jade Jensen, with regards what steps organisations and leaders can take when it comes to supporting women's growth.

"Despite women leaders having made significant strides across multiple industries, women remain underrepresented in top leadership positions on the global stage.

Gender bias, whether conscious or unconscious, in addition to outdated stereotypes, continues to obstruct women’s executive ambitions. Inspiring success stories are the exception rather than the rule.

The importance of gender diversity in leadership cannot be overstated. Diverse teams bring different perspectives and creative ideas to the table, resulting in increased innovation, better decision-making and improved overall performance. An inclusive environment ensures that all voices are heard.

Businesses need to move beyond simply talking about women in leadership and actively create opportunities for women to develop, contribute and lead. For me, one of the most practical steps an organisation can take is to intentionally create opportunities for women to grow, not only through mentorship and training, but through trust and meaningful responsibility. Bias needs to be eliminated from the recruitment process and policies implemented to promote equal representation in leadership roles. Executive level support is essential for these initiatives to succeed.

Women do not need to change; systems do.

Leadership is not developed in isolation; it flourishes in environments where people have access to guidance, clear career pathways and the confidence that their contributions matter.

Jade Jensen
Managing Director, Fulcrum Collections

We are proud to share a special message from our Activation Sponsor, The Fulcrum Group SA, in support of GWII Women’s Day.

Their message highlights the importance of creating opportunities for women to develop, contribute and lead, while challenging the biases and barriers that continue to limit equal representation in leadership.

In line with this year’s theme, Grace, Grit & Growth: A Season to Bloom, we celebrate the women who are driving change, fostering inclusion, and helping build stronger, more diverse workplaces across our industry.

A few members of the Fulcrum team had the opportunity to attend the filming of The Insurance Apprentice finale at The Venue at the Houghton Hotel. As always, being part of the 'live' recording was an experience, and the final outcome kept everyone guessing until the very end.

The Insurance Apprentice along with Rianet Whitehead's vision, continues to showcase the talent within our industry and reminds us why investing in future leaders matters.

To Karabo Mashego (this year's winner), the finalists, and every participant who took part this season: thank you for inspiring the industry and proving what is possible when ambition meets opportunity.

What a finale - in one word...spicy!

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the Top 10 finalists from The Insurance Apprentice for lunch and conversation ahead of the grand finale. This week, we join the rest of the industry in celebrating an incredible season and recognising the achievements of the finalists who made it all the way to the end.

A HUGE congratulations to this year's winner - Karabo Mashego. You definitely stood out, and we loved following along on your journey.
Of course, well done too to Asanda Magwaza and Tyrell Moodley on an outstanding performance throughout the competition too.

We look forward to seeing where your journeys take you next.

There’s something incredibly amazing about seeing a great idea grow into something truly impactful.
Over the years, Fulcrum has proudly supported The Insurance Apprentice and the incredible platform it provides for emerging talent in our industry. What started as a bold initiative to develop future leaders has grown into a nationally recognised programme, now reaching audiences across South Africa on television.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting this year’s Top 10 finalists, alongside the FAnews and The Insurance Apprentice team, for lunch and conversation at Forking Good in Bryanston.

A special thank you to Rianet Whitehead, whose vision continues to create opportunities for the next generation of insurance professionals, and to our own Asiya Swaleh, who shared a few words of encouragement with the finalists as they prepare for the final chapter of their journey.

To this year's Top 10: congratulations on making it this far. Your passion, resilience and commitment to growth are exactly what our industry needs.

We’ll be watching with great anticipation as the winner is announced later today on The Insurance Apprentice finale.

Last week, we stepped away from the office to host our business update and present our quarterly APTER Awards to Fulcrum Team members nominated by their colleagues for living and representing the Fulcrum Values. Well done to everyone who received their APTER Award.

After the formalities, we stepped onto the bowling green for our Buzz and Bowls team building!

It was an afternoon of friendly competition and team spirit, from creative team names and themed outfits to cheering each other on! Thanks to our bowling facilitators at Bryanston Sports Club for guiding us through the fun bowling putt-putt games!

At the end, there could only be one winner; congratulations went to the “Bowling Bunnies”, securing 1st place, with the “Lawn Rangers” coming in a close 2nd.

Now that is a fun “Flashback Friday”.

Sunshine, fresh air, a few nervous swings… and plenty of laughs on the greens.

The Fulcrum team loved being part of the Gauteng Women In Insurance Queen of the Green Golf Day at The Wanderers Golf Club on 26 May 2026!

"What an incredible experience spending the day with such amazing bunch of women. The energy on the course was absolutely unforgettable, lots of laughs, good conversations and building valuable relationships and connections." Charlene Joubert, Business Development Consultant, Fulcrum Collections

"A big shoutout to the Gauteng Women in Insurance Institute for organising a fantastic event focused on empowering women. We laughed, we learned, and we had an amazing time!” - Larochelle Dreyer, Group Financial Manager, Fulcrum Group.

From first-timers who had never swung a club before, to experienced players sharing tips and encouragement, it was a day of learning, networking and some friendly competition.

A big thank you to the professional golfers and our friendly caddies who guided everyone along the way, and congratulations to the Digicall fourball for taking home the Fulcrum-sponsored prizes!

A sincere thank you to the FIA for creating opportunities for businesses like Fulcrum to engage with brokers, insurers, partners, and industry peers in meaningful ways.

The Insurance Institute of Gauteng’s Roots & Wings, is an initiative that invests in the future of our industry through learning, growth, and shared experiences, and once again Fulcrum is proud to support the programme.

This year, we are proud to see our own Sue Adams, Migration On-Boarding Lead at Fulcrum Collections step forward once again as a mentor.

Sue is mentoring Bongani Masango who works in the finance department of an underwriter. Sue shares how she is supporting his growth from being a “worker” to a “knowledge worker”, and focusing on building his confidence and emotional intelligence.

You can read more in our exclusive Q and A interview with Sue on the Fulcrum website - https://www.fulcrum.co.za/2026/05/05/sue-adams-represents-fulcrum-as-a-roots-and-wings-mentor-2026/

Even a crisp morning at Copperleaf Golf Estate couldn’t slow the energy at the Insurance Institute of Gauteng Presidential Golf Day.

Team Fulcrum was out in full force, bringing the adrenaline with our Formula 1 simulator as golfers swapped their clubs for racing skills in a bid to top the leaderboard.

A big thank you to President Jabulile Mtimkulu and the Insurance Institute of Gauteng for another fantastic opportunity to connect with industry peers, share in the excitement, and make the most of a memorable morning!

Pablo Clark Racing | EasyEquities, thank you for being part of our activation, and thank you to Copperleaf Golf Club for the amazing energy and assistance from your teams to make it all happen!
