At Belgravia Leisure, we believe that championing safe, inclusive and empowering environments for women is essential. Our recent work in the ACT reflects this commitment in action.

This month, our ACT Area Manager, Bernice Hay had the privilege of co-hosting the 2026 BOSS W Canberra International Women’s Day event, alongside the Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA).

The event brought together more than fifty passionate women across the ACT’s sport and aquatics community to celebrate leadership, share their knowledge and amplify the voices shaping our industry.

Falls are a leading cause of injury-related hospitalisations and deaths in Australia, costing the health system an estimated more than $5 billion each year, according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. This highlights the need for preventative, community-based programs that support mobility and independence.

At Stromlo Leisure Centre in the ACT, that need is being addressed through a new Falls Prevention Class led by Physiotherapist Nimisha Gorasia, designed to support people of all ages, including those at risk of falls or recovering from injury, to build confidence and maintain independence.

On 13 March, Australia’s updated 24-hour movement guidelines were released. At first glance, they reinforce what we already know. Move more, sit less, sleep well.

Dig deeper, and you'll find they reframe health as 'what we do across our entire day': small, consistent habits now matter just as much as vigorous exercise.

"This shows us a growing need for environments and programs that support everyday movement, from active travel to strength and balance training," shared Victoria Goodwin-Barlow, Belgravia Group's Health and Wellbeing Manager.

Our role is clear: help Australians move more, more often, and improve their overall wellbeing.

A national win for a small-budget campaign with big impact!

Belgravia Leisure has taken out Best Campaign with a Small Budget at the Mumbrella CommsCon Awards last night for “A Soak in the Spotlight”, our campaign for Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa created alongside The Block.

Head of Communications Kristy Brown and CEO Nick Cox accepted the award on the night on behalf of the team. The award recognises the power of strong storytelling, smart timing and clear strategy, showing that meaningful results do not require a blockbuster budget.

Congratulations to the other strong contenders in the category. This marks Belgravia Leisure’s first award of this kind, with hopefully many more to come. A fantastic result for our team and Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa.

A thrilling day was had at the sixth annual MOVE Triathlon, where almost 200 participants took part in three distances designed for all ages and abilities. The MOVE team and Moonee Valley Mayor Rose Iser joined the community to cheer everyone on.

Athletes and first‑timers alike swam, cycled and ran through the course before finishing inside the pool grounds including Sandie, thriving at fifty, and Jo, a marathon runner and cancer survivor. SWIRL has partnered with Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service, Wildcare Tasmania and Friends of Stanley Penguins to introduce a dedicated bottle recycling station at the venue, giving guests and locals an easy way to help fund the reduction of waste near the colony’s habitat, protecting some of the region's most adorable locals.
