When Leon and Rita Tokar purchased the property of Tokar Estate in June 1995, the land was covered in thistles, tussock grass and snakes. The plan was initially to produce grapes for their own consumption only – “to play at making wine ourselves, for ourselves”. However, the fabulous positioning of the site coupled with the extremely fertile soils made it an ideal location to undertake a modest pl

anting of Pinot Noir. With that, Leon Tokar’s vision was born and in 1996 the Vineyard itself was establishedin the Yarra Valley, with 30 acres under vines and producing premium fruit by 1998.

Live music all weekend at Shortest Lunch 🍷🎶

Join us at Tokar Estate on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June for great wine, delicious food and live entertainment overlooking the vineyard.

Saturday | 1pm–4pm
Indi Acoustic Duo will be setting the tone with relaxed acoustic tunes, perfect for a leisurely afternoon with a glass of wine in hand.

Sunday | 12:30pm–4:30pm
The Roc Dox take over with a high energy afternoon of classic rock favourites.

We'll also have a petting zoo on Sunday to keep the kids entertained, along with marshmallow toasting throughout the day.

Add wine tastings, Jimmy's Brisket BBQ, cocktails and plenty of festival atmosphere, and you've got the perfect winter weekend sorted.

With the cooler weather settling into the Yarra Valley, we’re bringing back some of our favourite winter traditions at Tokar Estate.

Mulled wine is back on pour, the firepits are glowing again every weekend, and kids can enjoy free marshmallow toasting by the fire while the adults settle in with a glass of red. For those wanting the full experience, our s’mores boxes are also available to purchase at the cellar door.
