I helped my client turn a 1-star super complaint into a glowing 5-star reference—all within 24 hours!

Look, negative reviews on your Google Business profile are extremely frustrating, especially in cases where you and your team have done nothing wrong.

But their existence also offers a unique opportunity to turn things around (and to take measures to prevent them from reappearing).

On the podcast, I just shared some key strategies on how to handle negative feedback effectively.

Check out this clip and learn the importance of welcoming client feedback and ensuring everyone feels heard.

What’s the worst review your business has ever received?

A client of mine recently received a negative review on their Google business profile from an anonymous source.

We couldn’t track down who left it, but we didn't just ignore it.

We publicly responded by acknowledging the review and inviting the person to contact the Managing Director directly to resolve the issue.

This showed anyone who saw this feedback that the business took it seriously, even when the reviewer chose to remain unidentified.

(We also instigated the dispute resolution process with Google to seek to have the review removed).

Transparency and responsiveness can go a long way in managing your online reputation.

Even if you can’t resolve the issue immediately, a measured and genuine response to a negative review can demonstrate professionalism and care.

Negative reviews happen (most reasonable people looking your business up online understand that) and a one-star review doesn't have to define your business.

But how you respond can be just as important as the review itself.

Have you ever faced an anonymous negative review? Share your experience and how you handled it.

And DM me ‘188' if you'd like me to send you a link to the episode that will cover the topic of online reviews in more detail.

You don’t have to be passionate about commercial real estate.

Just find the part of your work that you’re passionate about.

When you reignite this passion, it fuels your growth.

This will help you to overcome challenges and it will level up your motivation.

As leaders, we often find ourselves juggling numerous responsibilities, trying to do it all.

But sometimes, in our quest for success, we can lose sight of what truly drives us.

Recently, I had a moment of clarity that I wanted to share with you.

At the start of this year, I noticed that I wasn't as excited about creating new podcast episodes as I once was.

So I pulled back from weekly solo episodes, and instead I produced a series of fortnightly client interviews on the show.

This pivot helped me to balance competing demands on my time.

And I loved bringing the stories of my clients’ success to the audience.

But, as I freed up more time elsewhere in my business (my assistant now manages my inbox), I had the space to reflect.

And I remembered that I was talking about the concept of our zone of genius in one of the interviews.

Your zone of genius is where our passions (what you like doing), skills (what you’re good at), and the value we bring to others (what makes us money) intersect.

For me, the podcast is within that zone, but I had lost sight of that.

In my latest episode, I dive into why I'm recommitting to weekly shows.

It’s not just about consistency—it's about reconnecting with what makes the work meaningful and valuable, both for me and the people I serve.

I'm excited to bring more energy back to the podcast, and to share more of me personally on every episode.

With that in mind, let me ask you: is it time for you to also think about your own zone of genius?

DM me ‘187’ and I'll send you the link to the episode that will show you how to spend more time within it.

"I have to step back from being an agent and I have to be a business owner."

When commercial real estate principals shift their focus.

From day-to-day deals to overall business growth.

They're moving away from transactions and towards transformation.

In episode 186 of the Commercial Real Estate Leadership podcast.

You can find out how Rocco Tripodi and Andrew Bozza of Belle Property Commercial are doing it.

To read, watch or listen to the episode, DM me '186' and I'll send you the link.

Rocco Tripodi didn’t hesitate when it came to bringing on Andrew Bozza as a business partner at Belle Property Commercial Inner West.

His gut told him it was the right move—and he was right.

After spending a year working with them, here’s what I’ve observed makes their partnership work so well:

🫡 Mutual respect: Rocco built the business before Andrew came on as a partner, and Andrew respects that by treating it with just as much care.

🙌 Shared values: They’re both family-first, but they also have a relentless drive to grow the business.

📈 Continuous improvement: They never stop asking, “How can we do this better?”

💼 Clear boundaries: They're the best of mates, but when it's work time, it's all business.

👐 Honesty: No sugar-coating, no BS—just straightforward, open and honest communication.

Their story shows that with the right mindset and an ideal partner, growth isn’t just possible—it’s inevitable.

And their partnership is a brilliant reminder that sometimes you should just trust your instincts and go with your gut.

I’ve released a new podcast episode with Rocc and Bozz as my special guests.

Tony used to clean offices and factories after school with his dad.

Now he manages, leases and sells the same types of buildings he used to sweep and vacuum.

Tony Aminian is the principal of Simple Industrial Commercial.

And there’s even more to his story – he arrived in Australia from Armenia as a school-aged boy who didn’t speak English.

But that didn't stop him becoming the owner of multiple business by the time he was in his early 30s.

If you’re hesitating to have a go, not ready to back yourself or don’t know where to get started to hit your goals...

Then you will benefit from learning about Tony’s can-do approach.

We unpack it all on episode 184 of Commercial Real Estate Leadership.
