Last week, John and Scott attended the LGAQ Bush Councils Convention in Longreach. The conference dinner was held at the iconic Qantas Founders Museum and with State of Origin on the same night, there was only one screen for the occasion: the side of a Boeing 747. Last week Scott attended his final meeting of the Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council. Scott was the committees' inaugural Chair and has spent a total of four years as an independent member providing pro-bono services. On behalf of Council, the Mayor Bruce Simpson presented him with an emu egg painted by a talented local artist.

Despite the flooding, Scott visited Diamantina Shire Council last week to assist with their corporate plan. He captured these images from the plane last Monday and the view in Bedourie on Friday.

The shire remains only accessible by plane and could be for months as repeated heavy rainfall both in the local area and upstream makes its way to Lake Eyre.
