Yesterday, a truly remarkable individual was honored in his final farewell. As a pillar of his community and a gentle giant he was well respected in the Tasmanian fishing industry.

Rodney James Bell fondly remembered as a man whose kindness and compassion extended far beyond his impressive accomplishments.

With a fleet of vessels under his ownership, including the Varuna, Taronga, Thalassa and the Matilda May.

Gail, his loving wife, the Bell's formed a lasting bond with Griggs Marine Consultants, where they became cherished friends and valued clients.

East Coast and North East Catch Caps area openings

Rules 84 (4) and 84 (5) prevail for 10 April opening of the East Coast and North East Catch Cap areas.

Rule 84 (4) says you can set you pot during a closed season if the setting occurs after 1 p.m. on the day immediately before the commencement of an open season.

Rule 84 (5) says you can leave port with pots on board in a closed area within 60 hours before the commencement of an open season.
