Happy Fathers' Day to Dad/Pop!
Dad's well known for being super efficient & organised (I dipped out on that gene!), and so hardly surprising my siblings and I have a bound copy of Mum & Dad's 'Our Amazing Journey through Life'! Yes, awwe!
Through all the incredible work milestones, family arrivals, community activities and enviable travel adventures, there are a few understated key moments;
- the tight hug I got when Dad arrived first on the scene after I totalled my (sister's, oops) car at 19yrs old
- supporting my travels overseas after Uni, and 'giving' me a job at the family business the day after I arrived home. I stayed for a few (28) years!
- getting signed off on the medical training (trache care & nasal gastric feeding) so he and Mum could help look after our 2nd son, Finlay and give him lots of cuddles!
- Dad backed my business through the years of planning and building, even though it was when his wife, our beautiful Mum, was slipping away from us
And now Dad does everything he can in the garden to make sure there are many months of gorgeous dahlias and roses, to take out to 'mum' and tell her about what the family has been up to.
Our family doesn't dwell too much on sad and difficult life chapters, but it is the love and support that come from those moments that live on.
Love you Dad XXOOXX 💖
I'll email this to him :)
