Orthocell's Hamish Thrum, Director of Commercial APAC (pictured), and Trevor Turnbull, Business Development Manager, joined the WA orthopaedic community at the 54th Australian Orthopaedic Association WA Annual Scientific Meeting at Bunker Bay over the weekend.

The meeting featured a strong scientific programme and plenty of discussion on emerging research and innovation in orthopaedic surgery.

The team had the opportunity to learn about Dr Rui Ruan’s research investigating a photo-crosslinkable bioadhesive collagen patch for sutureless neural tissue repair, including its potential applications in orthopaedic surgery.

The research highlights ongoing developments in collagen-based biomaterials and their potential role in supporting tissue repair and regeneration.

Remplir™ has now arrived in Ukraine. The latest humanitarian delivery to support Ukrainian surgeons treating traumatic nerve injuries is now on the ground and ready for use.

Dr Zakhar Plakhtyr (pictured below) receives this delivery of Remplir™ medical devices, helping provide surgeons with access to advanced peripheral nerve repair technology for victims of war suffering severe nerve injuries as a result of the ongoing conflict.

We thank the Australian organisations and donors who helped make this shipment possible, and the Ukraine Crisis Appeal for coordinating support on the ground.

This initiative reflects Orthocell Ltd's ongoing commitment to supporting healthcare professionals and improving outcomes for those impacted by the ongoing conflict.

Hamish Thrum and Ellis Taylor are at the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Queensland Branch Annual Scientific Meeting in Noosa this weekend.

It has been an engaging meeting so far, featuring high-quality scientific discussions and the chance to connect with Orthopaedic Surgeons to share information on OrthoATI™, our autologous tenocyte injection therapy for chronic, treatment-resistant tendon injuries, as well as OrthoACI™, our autologous chondrocyte implantation therapy developed to regenerate damaged articular cartilage.

We also have samples of Remplir™, distributed in Australia by Device Technologies, so that surgeons can experience the superior handling characteristics, flexibility, and elasticicity of our collagen epineurial substitute designed to protect the coaptation site and help prevent axonal escape.

If you are at the meeting, come over and meet the Orthocell team.
