Excellent archaeologists. Good humans. Both matter.
Virtus Heritage is expanding our team in Sydney, Northern Rivers and Newcastle, and we are looking for archaeologists who bring strong technical skills without the unnecessary ego. We are looking for collaborative spirits with high standards, who are fully formed adults.
We want people who:
1. think critically and write clearly;
2. respect Aboriginal communities, colleagues and clients;
3. take responsibility for the quality of their work;
4. want to share knowledge as well as learn;
5. communicate early and directly; and
6. make the people around them better.
Our work includes Aboriginal cultural heritage, historical archaeology, urban development, infrastructure, Defence heritage, renewables and contested heritage. We also undertake specialist projects in anthropology, geomorphology, Indigenouse engagement and conservation.
You do not need to pretend to know everything. You do need to be curious, accountable, willing to learn and good to work with. You need to respect the community relationships and research partners that our team cherishes and who support our projects. You need to be respectful to our administrative team who support our technical team. You need to care about your professional work. Our team has a mentoring program, in house learning, exceptional human beings in the team and an interesting and unique project portfolio as well as some enviable fieldwork coming up. We invest in our team and their professional development. We provide flexibility for work scenarios as well as have available office spaces in Sydney and Northern Rivers (Pottsville).
