If you've found yourself asking any of these questions recently, you're not alone.

The challenge isn't usually a lack of information.
It's knowing which information actually matters.

That's what we'll be helping practice owners work through inside Monday's webinar.

Most practice owners don't ignore their numbers because they don't care.
They ignore them because they're busy.

There's always something more urgent.

A client to see.
A team issue to solve.
A report to finish.
An email to answer.

So the numbers get pushed to "later".

Until something changes.

A wage increase.
A superannuation increase.
A pricing decision.
A difficult team conversation.

And suddenly the pressure feels much bigger than it did a few months ago.

Not because the change itself is necessarily the problem.
But because it's hard to make confident decisions when you don't fully understand what the numbers are telling you.

That's why understanding your practice finances isn't just about spreadsheets.

It's about reducing uncertainty.
It's about making decisions before they become urgent.
And it's about creating a practice that feels sustainable, not reactive.

That's exactly what we'll be exploring in our free webinar, Pay Rises Without Panic.

Because the goal isn't to react faster.
It's to understand your numbers sooner.

You know how sometimes you start looking into one thing...

And somehow end up ten tabs deep trying to answer a completely different question?

That's been the rabbit hole lately.

It starts with:

"I should probably understand the 4.75% wage increase."

Then somehow leads to:

🐇 Should I be reviewing my fees?
🐇 Are we actually profitable?
🐇 Can we absorb rising super costs?
🐇 How do I know if payroll is becoming a problem?
🐇 Should I be attracting more clients?
🐇 Am I making the right decisions for the future of the practice?

Because the reality is, most practice challenges don't exist in isolation.
Everything connects.

A change in wages can lead to conversations about pricing.
A pricing review can lead to questions about profitability.
Profitability can lead to questions about capacity, referrals, marketing, and growth.

No wonder practice ownership sometimes feels like one giant rabbit hole.

If any of these topics have been taking up space in your brain lately, you're certainly not the only one. In fact, we're unpacking many of these conversations inside the membership right now.

I'd love to know...

What's the rabbit hole you've found yourself going down recently? Let me know in the comments below or email me at [email protected]

Halfway through the year already.

Before you jump into the next six months...

Have you taken a moment to look at the last six?

Many practice owners spend so much time responding to what's in front of them that they rarely get the chance to step back and ask:

What's working?

What's changed?

What's feeling heavier than it used to?

And where do I want to focus next?

Our free Mid-Year Reset Guide is designed to help you create that space.

A simple opportunity to pause, reflect, and move into the second half of the year with more clarity and purpose.

Before you make any pay rise decision, pause.

Not because you should say yes.
Not because you should say no.

But because some of the most stressful decisions practice owners make happen when they're feeling pressure to decide quickly.

Before making any changes, ask yourself:

⚫ What has actually changed?
⚫ Can the practice sustain this?
⚫ What's the true cost?
⚫ What precedent am I setting?
⚫ What would I advise another practice owner to do?

The goal isn't to find the perfect answer.
It's to make a thoughtful one.

P.S. We'll be unpacking these conversations (and the recent 4.75% increase) inside our free webinar Pay Rises Without Panic next week. Learn more here: https://theconnectionco.com.au/pay-rises-without-panic-free-webinar/

When was the last time you reviewed your fees?

Not increased them.
Reviewed them.

It's something I find a lot of practice owners mean to do, but it often gets pushed down the list until expenses increase, wages change, or things start feeling a little tighter financially.

The interesting thing is that a pricing review isn't automatically about putting your fees up.

It's about stepping back and asking:

🤔 Does my current pricing still support what my practice needs?
🤔 Have my expenses changed?
🤔 Are there any income leaks I need to address?
🤔 Do my policies and processes still make sense?
🤔 Am I busy... but actually sustainable?

Sometimes the answer is a fee increase.
Sometimes it's tightening up a process.
Sometimes it's fixing a leak that's quietly been sitting there for months.
And sometimes it's simply confirming that everything is working well.

The important part is creating the space to look.

It's actually something we're exploring inside the membership this month as part of our Planning Your Annual Pricing Review Make It Session.

So I'm curious...

When was the last time you reviewed your fees?

👇 Let us know below.

The Fair Work increase is 4.75%.

And while that number might seem straightforward, the impact on your practice may not be.

It could mean:

👉 Higher payroll costs than you initially expect
👉 Reviewing whether your current pricing is still sustainable
👉 Looking more closely at your profit margins and cash flow
👉 Having important conversations with your team about pay
👉 Making decisions that balance fairness, sustainability, and the future of your practice

One thing to remember?

You don't need to rush.
You don't need to compare your decisions to everyone else's.
And you certainly don't need to figure it all out alone.

Start with understanding your numbers.

Because the right response for your practice will depend on your team, your finances, your goals, and where your business is right now.

That's exactly what we'll be unpacking in our FREE Online Webinar, Pay Rises Without Panic.

Join us live on Monday 29 June from 12pm to 1pm (AEST Sydney Time) as we explore the true impact of the increase and how to make thoughtful, informed decisions with confidence.

What's it actually like to attend the Healthy Practice Retreat?

It's three days away from the constant doing.
Three days to step off the mouse wheel, create some breathing room, and reconnect with the bigger picture.

Yes, there's strategy.
Yes, there's learning.
Yes, there are practical conversations about growing a healthy practice.

But what people often remember most isn't what's written in their notebook.

It's how they felt.

The clarity that comes from finally having space to think.
The energy that comes from stepping out of the day-to-day.
And the connections that happen when you're surrounded by Practice Owners who simply get it.

There's something so powerful about being in a room full of people who understand the journey you're on.

And while the retreat lasts three days, the friendships last a lifetime.
Perhaps that's why every year someone says:

"I didn't realise how much I needed this."

Not just the strategy.
Not just the learning.

The space.
The connections.
The reminder that you're not doing this alone.

Healthy Practice Retreat 2027 applications are now open.

If you've been craving some space to think, reflect and reconnect with what matters most, we'd love to welcome you.

The recent wage increase announcement has brought a lot of questions to the surface. And for many kind-hearted leaders, it's not just about the numbers.

It's about wanting to do right by your team while also protecting the business you've worked so hard to build.

Here are three fears we've been hearing from practice owners over the past week:

1. "I want to be a generous employer, but I'm not sure what the practice can realistically afford."

2. "I'm worried about what this wage increase could mean for the sustainability of the practice."

3. "I don't want to make a decision today that creates bigger challenges down the track."

If any of these thoughts have been running through your mind, you're certainly not alone.

Because wanting to support your team and wanting your practice to remain sustainable shouldn't be opposing goals.

They're both part of being a thoughtful, values-led leader.

If the recent wage increase announcement has left you wondering what comes next, or you'd simply like a clearer framework for navigating pay rise conversations, I'd love to support you.

Join me for my free webinar, Pay Rises Without Panic on 29 June, where we'll unpack:

✅ What the 4.75% increase may mean for your practice
✅ How to assess the true cost of wage increases
✅ What to consider before making pay decisions
✅ How to approach pay conversations with confidence and clarity

The Fair Work Commission has announced a 4.75% wage increase.

And if you're an allied health practice owner, you might already be asking yourself:

🤔 What does this mean for my practice?
🤔 Can I afford it?
🤔 Do I need to increase my fees?
🤔 What happens if my team starts asking for more?
🤔 How do I know what's fair?

These are important questions.
Because a wage increase isn't just a wage increase.

It affects your payroll, your profitability, your pricing decisions, and the long-term sustainability of your practice.

That's why I'm re-running my free webinar, Pay Rises Without Panic.

Inside this session, we'll unpack:
• What the 4.75% increase means for you and your practice
• The true cost of wage increases
• How to make decisions that are fair and sustainable
• Common mistakes practice owners make when handling pay rises
• A practical framework for navigating pay conversations with confidence

Because pay decisions aren't just about money.
They're about leadership, communication, and building a practice that's sustainable for the long term.

If this topic has been sitting in the back of your mind lately, I'd love to support you through it.
